🌺 Friendly reminder about our Poké Bowls! 🌺
We’ve noticed some recent confusion between our Signature Bowls and our Custom Bowls, particularly with orders coming through DoorDash. So we wanted to take a moment to clarify how they work!
🥢 Aloha Poké Bowl & Mini Aloha Poké Bowl = CUSTOM BOWLS
With these bowls, you choose every ingredient that goes in your bowl. If an ingredient isn’t selected, we won’t include it. 💛
🥢 Signature Bowls = SET INGREDIENTS
Our Signature Bowls, including our Hawaiian Poké Bowl, come with specific, preset ingredients. You don’t need to build these bowls ingredient-by-ingredient.
🛑 Here’s a real example of where the confusion can happen:
A recent and repeat customer ordered two Aloha Poké Bowls through DoorDash. One was customized with mixed greens, imitation crab, seaweed salad, and fish eggs. The other was customized with white rice, imitation crab, jalapeño, shredded carrots, and sushi ginger.
Our team prepared both bowls exactly as they were ordered. Unfortunately, it appears the customer may have intended to order a Signature Bowl instead, based on the 2 star review on Yelp they later left.
We completely understand that our menu can be a lot to navigate, especially when ordering through a third-party platform! We’ve been doing our best to catch possible mistakes when we notice a custom bowl with only a few ingredients selected. When we can, we’ll give the customer a courtesy call to confirm. If we can’t reach them, we may add sauces or toppings on the side (free of charge of course!) in case something was unintentionally missed.
That said, we aren’t always able to catch these mistakes before the order is prepared, so we’ve made an update to help prevent confusion going forward.
📢 Starting today, we’ve updated our DoorDash menu!
For our Aloha Poké Bowl & Mini Aloha Poké Bowl, it is now required to make a separate selection in separate sections for your proteins. All other ingredients must still be chosen in their respective categories.
💡 Quick tip: If you’re looking for one of our bowls with a specific combination of ingredients already chosen for you, make sure you select from our Signature Bowls section. If you want to build your own bowl, choose from our Custom Bowls section!
