We serve whole-hog barbecue, smoked low and slow, from heritage, humanely raised hogs—welcoming every guest like family at our table. August Swine Barbecue is a family-owned, farm-to-table BBQ restaurant rooted in a Southwest Georgia legacy that began in the 1920s. Our story starts with Willie “Big Daddy” Williams — a swine herder and pit master who understood that good barbecue begins with how animals are raised, how food is prepared, and how people are treated. What started as a way to feed family became a tradition passed down through generations. Today, we proudly serve whole-hog barbecue in a quick-service setting, using heritage-bred animals raised humanely and free-range on our farm in Southwest Georgia. Our animals eat a clean diet — no slop — and our barbecue is smoked low and slow using time-honored pit techniques. It ain’t just the chicken. It’s gotta’ dance on that pit… and when it does — it’s finger-lickin. When you visit, you’re not just stopping by – you are a guest at our table, enjoying a down-home, country picnic where everyone is welcome.
