I am excited to announce a successful meeting with Vivian Zeng, the Sudbury Board of Health director. She was warm and accommodating and is truly committed to solutions for the egg sandwiches.
I was dismayed to learn of the extent to which anonymous members of the internet have reaped personal attacks on her. That was never the intent of my original post. Defense of the integrity of my sandwiches, yes, but personal attacks was never in the spirit of my post.
I am confident that those attacks came from people outside of my customer base, as the internet can be a black hole from which crazy things can emerge. I am so sorry that ever happened.
I want to be clear; we are working together for solutions and I am looking forward to a warm collaborative relationship.
It is also time to announce my successor. Kerani Verma, a 26 yr old Lincoln-Sudbury graduate who grew up coming to my shop and dreamed of someday owning a business like mine.
So we are making it happen. Together, Vivian and I are doing all we can to ensure her success.
But be assured, I will be there every day mentoring and helping her when she needs help, but also satisfying my personal desire to continue to serve and see YOU, the best customers in the world.
We need some time to put together and test the new techniques for making the egg sandwiches as well as getting Kerani installed with her licenses so please be patient. Sudbury’s only drive-thru is poised to reopen better than ever and to continue for a long time to come.

I want to take a moment to clear up some of the concerns that have been circulating. My original plan was to retire and work toward a transition in the coming months, but that was always with the understanding that the shop could continue under the current business model -breakfast sandwiches included - which so many of you know and love.
I want to sincerely apologize for any confusion or upset this situation has caused. Some private details about the transition have unfortunately been shared publicly, and I kindly ask for your understanding and respect for the privacy of everyone involved as we work through the details.
I am still the current owner of Debby’s Drive-Thru, and my wish is to continue operations as they are while this process unfolds. Your support has meant the world to me. It’s a reminder of just how special this little shop is to our town, and I am deeply grateful for the outpouring of care and encouragement.

Debby’s Drive-Thru will finally be reopened tomorrow, Wednesday, August 20 until Thursday, August 21. After that, I regret to announce that I will be closing my shop forever.
The current Sudbury health director, Vivian Zeng, has decided that the production of breakfast sandwiches in my facility represents a public health hazard. After 12 yrs of making sandwiches w/o incident or complaint by the previous health directors or customers, she has mandated that I am only provisionally allowed to reopen serving coffee and baked goods. This stipulation will create a huge shortfall in my ability to cover my rent, other expenses, and provide me with a living wage. Therefore, it is no longer viable for me to continue at the space lovingly known as Debby’s Drive-Thru.
Thank you, all, for your support these past 12 yrs. As I have always said, you are the best customers in the world.

FINALLY! The shop will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday April 8. Perfect timing with this horrible week of weather. I’m looking forward to the privilege of brightening up your day with a hot/iced coffee and a warm breakfast sandwich or baked good.
Thank you everyone for your support during my recovery. I’ve always said I have the best customers in the world, and you proved yourselves once again, with your kindness, encouragement, and generosity of spirit during this inconvenient ordeal.

I’m so sorry to have to announce that the reopening of the shop is going to take longer than hoped or expected. The reason for the enduring pain in my chest was revealed this week in an X-ray: a fracture of my mid-sternum. Recovery time is undetermined but I’m hoping 4-6 weeks. I will keep you posted ❤️

I’m so sorry and this is getting quite boring but I still feel like I’ve been kicked in the chest by a mule and when I try to use those muscles they rebel by hurting even more. Therefore I must delay the reopening by yet another week. Hope to have better news soon❤️Debby

Happy Presidents Day!
Just a quick note that I’m not quite ready for Prime Time. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. The healing is moving in the right direction but I am still limited is the amount of lifting and muscle use I can do. I will look forward to reopening next week❤️
