The weather’s getting good again, so why not eat your way up the hill. 🍽️ That’s a thing, right? That should be a thing.

Looking for your next breakfast spot 🍳, lunch stop 🍔, date night 💕, coffee run☕, pizza craving🍕, sweet treat🍬, or “I don’t want to cook tonight🥱” solution? Our member restaurants, cafés, and food makers have you covered from Soulsbyville to Strawberry, and beyond.

Consider this your unofficial Highway 108 Food Tour:

Start in Tuolumne at Black Oak Casino Resort, where there are plenty of dining options, but for an elevated experience, Seven Sisters is our personal favorite.

In Soulsbyville, if you stop by Divine Market for groceries do not sleep on the gyros from the food counter.

Across the highway in Mono Vista, U-Kneada Burrito & Pizza has chimichangas that are absolutely worth the detour, and Fit Fuel Kitchen is our new favorite healthy meal prep obsession - yes, we occasionally eat healthy.

Then make your way to Twain Harte, where the decisions get dangerous: Grab a Rock Burger at The Rock of Twain Harte. Hit The Sportsman Coffee Shop for the go-to Twain Harte breakfast - and by go-to we mean the cinnamon rolls, though dinner on Fridays and Saturdays deserves attention, too, especially the beef stroganoff - just leave some for us. Check out the amazing new menu at Twain Harte Golf Club, but our favorite is still an oldie-but-a-goodie - the wonton tacos. Visit Boba at Tiffany’s for boba, naturally, but we are also very serious about the taro fudge. Get your Chinese food fix at China House, your Mexican food cravings handled at El Jardin of Twain Harte, slow-smoked BBQ at Twain Harte Creamery , and pizza plus game-room fun at Pizza Factory Twain Harte.

Heading farther up the hill, Diamond Jim's in Mi-Wuk has great bar bites, especially the wings, plus a full bar. At The Pine Cone Cafe, the chicken fried steak is a personal favorite - YOLO. Mia's brings the pizza, but also those Brussels sprouts, along with an amazing wine and beer selection, including wine and beer to-go. You heard us: To. Go. (!!) Camp Town Coffee is the place for a cappuccino brûlée, which we’ve decided is going to be our new summer obsession. And if you make it to Strawberry Inn River Front Resort before the food coma sets in, the goulash is calling. Hungry? More like Hungary! (See what we did there?)

And don’t forget our Maker members popping up at fairs, farmers markets, and other events up and down the hill: Tater Wagon, Po-ta-toes has build-your-own baked potatoes, and we highly recommend the pulled pork. And for the carb lovers among us, Rustic Rise Breads & Bakes, Sourdough Dreams , and Two Acre Farms are doing very important baking work. Very important. Give us all the bread. All. Of. It.

So here’s your assignment, because Bigfoot hunting is hungry work: pick a spot, try something new, bring a friend, make a day of it, and one bite at a time.

And while you’re at it:

It’s a “brewtiful” day!

If you throw your hands in the air like you just don’t care, make sure you put your cup of coffee down first.

“There’s only one thing in the mountains that leaves a track like this. The creature that roams the Timberline. My people named him Sasquatch. You call him… Bigfoot.” - The Six Million Dollar Man

Well, that escalated quickly. 🦶

The first weekend of the Bigfoot Scavenger Hunt and Bigfoot Receipt Raffle is officially in the books, and you all came out swinging.

We’ve already had almost 50 Squatchie sightings across 41 participating businesses from Soulsbyville to Strawberry and beyond. On the Receipt Raffle side, we’re up to 25 entries and counting.

And yes, in both contests, there is one clear leader so far. We won’t name names, but she knows who she is. 👀

But don’t worry, there is still plenty of time to catch up. Both contests run now through July 19, the final day of the Sierra Bigfoot Music Festival.

Keep hunting. Keep shopping local. Keep uploading those receipts. Receipt Raffle upload link:

🚨Bigfoot season starts today🚨

From May 23 through July 19, we’re running TWO‼️ways to play along and support local businesses:

☑️The Bigfoot Scavenger Hunt
Find little Bigfoots hiding at participating businesses, scan the QR code on their tags, and check in. First person to find them all wins the grand prize. If nobody finds them all, the person with the most check-ins wins.

☑️The Bigfoot Receipt Raffle
Upload any receipt from a participating business dated May 23 through July 19, and you’ll be entered to win a $100 Local Love Card from Visit Tuolumne County. Upload those receipts here:
https://www.embracethelocal.com/bigfoot-receipt-raffle (feel free to smudge out any sensitive information, all we’re looking for is the date and the business).

This year, we’ve heard Bigfoot has been spotted in businesses from Soulsbyville from Strawberry (and beyond). And, because we’re not awful people and we know gas is expensive right now, we will tell you that all the little Squatchies are in businesses EAST of Soulsbyville Road. All 41 of them can be spotted in Soulsbyville, Mono Vista/Longeway, Twain Harte, Sugar Pine, Mi-Wuk Village, Cold Springs, Pinecrest, and Strawberry.

You can participate in either contest or both. No complicated rules. No secret handshake. Just find Bigfoot, shop local, save those receipts, and .
