She quit her job, left Massachusetts, moved to Vermont , and said yes to a completely different life.
At the time, Sarah was a nurse in Massachusetts, living a life she knew well. Then came a question from her best friend, Kaylee: Would you move to Vermont, learn how to roast coffee, and help us start a coffee business?
It sounded crazy. It was scary. And somehow, it felt right.
Sarah and TJ had always dreamed of living in Vermont. What they thought might be a 20-year plan suddenly became possible much sooner than they ever imagined. Inspired by Kaylee and Jordan’s willingness to leave the expected path behind and simply see where life would take them, they decided to say yes.
That yes led them to Vermont, to Movement Coffee, and into a journey that would take them all around the world, experiencing the magic of the coffee farms of Panama.
What looks like a simple cup of coffee is the final step in a long chain of people, intention, skill, and care from farmers hand-picking ripe cherries to processing and drying the coffee, to the roasting and brewing that happens back home.
Once you’ve seen where coffee comes from, it’s hard not to feel responsible for honoring everything that came before.
But Movement Coffee Roasters has always been about more than coffee. It’s about the people behind it, the friendships that started it, the team that has grown around it, and the community that has formed inside the space..
Sometimes the best chapters of your life begin with simply saying yes and following your heart.
