Today marks 1 year of closing Pentimento Restaurant in Stony Brook Village. After 27 years, it was a very sad day. Not only for us, but our staff, and our loyal community. We loved serving you. Welcoming you into our home and watching you enjoy the food, the drink, and running into your neighbors, and friends.
We are sorry it ended the way it did. Sometimes we still cannot believe it was just a year ago today. We will always cherish the memories and keep them close to our hearts.
We thank all of you for the years of supporting us, watching us get through our renovation, and seeing us through all our changes.
When COVID 19 hit we thought it may be the end of Pentimento, but you stood by us as we shifted and adjusted to a new normal. You grew and adapted with us as we transformed our main dining room into a market. You kept us going so we could serve you. We all worked together.
We enjoyed growing with you, being a part of all your important celebrations, and seeing your families expand. Many locals worked with us and then their children.
We loved supporting local businesses and always tried to buy from local vendors and the little guy.
We supported our community and were big fans of the arts. We thank our friends from The Staller Center, The Jazz Loft, The Reboli Center, Gallery North, The Atelier, and The Stony Brook Museums, all of the local businesses in the Village Center.
We thank our restaurant friends, Mirabelle, The County House, and even our nearby neighbors, Druthers Coffee, Bliss,The Curry Club, Madiran The Wine Bar, Level Up Kitchen, The Trattoria, Eat Mosaic, and Iberico. All of you supported us.
It was odd not to host the Stony Brook Film festival this year. It was odd to take a European vacation and not have a place to come back to so we could share all the foods and drinks we experienced with you.
One year has passed since we said goodbye. We miss our Pentimento Family. Thank you for always being there for us and allowing us to share with you. We are honored to have these memories of 27 years.
