No, we don't have light sabers available at the DG, but we do have the best outdoor heaters ever over our deck!

I decided to go for a walk yesterday to see what I could see on the first day of Fall.

Here's what I found👇

At the entrance of Pioneer Park, there was the coolest looking pile of pine needles and leaves. When I first saw it, it almost looked like fur!

My second stop was at the sunken fountain next to the JX Building. Even though it's the first day of fall, everything still felt lush and beautiful down there. If I wasn't on a walk, it would have been a nice place to hang out and enjoy for a little longer.

Instead of going directly to the Grind, I decided to walk Main street a little longer and see what I could see. While the leaves on the trees are still pretty green in the Valley, some of the stores are getting into the Fall spirit with their window designs. You can pretty much always count on Minnesota Made and Smith + Trade Mercantile to have something fun and whimsical in their windows to fit the occasion, and they didn't disappoint 🍁.

On the final leg of my walk, I also noticed many store windows tagged with Pony Pride for Homecoming week. I love this tradition. As I approached our store, to inspect what the Pony players wrote on our windows, I saw the words "We are Brave" and "We are strong" along with the Pony logo. I love they chose those tag lines for our windows. Let's go Ponies!

Over the next few weeks, it will be interesting to see all the changes Fall brings to the valley. We look forward to celebrating all the changes with Rivertown Art Festival, Stillwater and Stillwater Harvest Fest . Back to back fun weekends in the first two weekends in October!

If you have time, come check out the valley over the next few weeks. I'm really hoping for some fun pops of color as the leaves change. We will see!

Happy First day of Fall🍁

Where are all my Fall lovers at?

Technically the fall equinox doesn't start until 8:05pm, but I LOVE all things fall.

Cooler snuggle weather, Apple Orchards, Apple C***r drinks, Apple Crisp. Pumpkins, Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Pie lattes, soup weather, the crunch of leaves, cozy blankets, Halloween decorations...just to name a few of my favorite Fall things.

What are your favorite Fall things to taste, see, and do?

I love Summer, but it feels like a hustle month. Everyone is soaking in as much summer as they can, and everything seems busy and fast. Fall feels a little slower paced and cozy. A little more intentional...and also delicious!

I don't know about you, but I'm excited to break out my sweatshirts, my cozy blankets, and sit and enjoy a hot Caramel Apple c***r, a Pumpkin Pie latte, or even a Hot chocolate spiked with a little Peppermint, and watch the world go by on our heated deck 🍁♥️🎃

Happy Monday!

We are officially 1 day away from Fall 🍁

Last night, at our son's football game, I was absolutely freezing on the sidelines (time to break out the winter gear when the sun goes down!)

Those of you who drink Iced drinks in the summer, do you switch to hot drinks as the weather gets cooler, or do you stick with Iced?

👇Jacob sent me a picture this morning of his Caramel Apple Iced latte, and now I can't stop thinking about it....but do I get it Iced or hot??? Oh the decisions!

Happy Saturday!

Check out this picture I took👇

I set my latte down yesterday for about 10 minutes while I made drinks for others. When I came back to it, it told me how it felt about being left alone🤣. I seriously busted out laughing.

I feel like this needs a fun caption. What do you think this face looks like?

It made me think of all the years feeding my kids and saying "Bottoms Up!" with my mouth wide open 🤣. What do you think?

Happy Friday!!

You know that saying "Like a kid in a candy store"?

Well that's how I feel about everything in this picture. If you would have told the teenage Megan she would one day own a coffee shop, and share a space with a fantastic local bookstore, she would be so incredibly happy (I am).

I fondly remember walking through Bookstores with my mom, sipping on my Hazelnut mocha, and it being such a treat. My parents are huge readers, who passed that love on to me, and out of all the great memories as a child, this is a big one.

Whenever I have long and over overwhelming days at the store, this thought pops into my head, and it reminds me how lucky I am to be living in my childhood happy place. Even better, our customers make it a million times more fun to be here ♥️.

"What is your kid in a candy store" happy place?

In my cup👇 a cappuccino with a touch of Hazelnut, and a sprinkle of white chocolate powder on top of the foam for a treat. Yum!
