Some employees become family and that’s exactly what Buda (Zach) has become to us ❤️

If you’ve been to The Big Garlic there’s a HIGH probability you’ve met him or definitely eaten something he’s cooked. He helped Tony and I open BOTH locations and has been one of the biggest backbones behind our business from the beginning. The long days, the stressful moments, the chaos of opening restaurants… he’s been right there beside us through all of it. We don’t think we could have done it without him!

Right now Buda is facing a serious and unexpected medical situation. He currently has a drain in place, will be out of work for a while, and has more scans and surgeries ahead of him during recovery. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have health insurance, and with medical bills, everyday expenses, and lost income piling up, things are really tough right now. 💔

Anyone who knows Buda knows he’s the guy that NEVER calls in, rarely complains, and always shows up ready to work. He takes leadership into his own hands naturally. Employees turn to him, Tony and I turn to him. He’s the employee every business owner prays for… and to see him down like this is really hard on all of us here at the garlic.

So we all want to do what we can for someone who has done so much for all of us ❤️

We are starting a GoFundMe for anyone who would like to help support Buda directly during this incredibly difficult time and help ease some of the financial strain while he focuses on healing and recovery.

We will also be holding a future night at BOTH locations where a portion of sales will be donated to help with medical expenses and everyday living costs. We’ll announce the date as soon as everything is finalized.

It’s another Mother’s Day post… but this one hits especially close to home. 🖤

We truly can’t put into words how grateful we are for these two incredible women. The saying “it takes a village” couldn’t be more true for our family, and these moms are the heart of ours 🥲

Because of them, Tony and I have been able to continue chasing our crazy dreams and building The Big Garlic into more than just an idea. They’ve been our rocks through it all. Helping raise our wonderful boys, taking them to school, soccer practice, stepping in at the restaurant, helping with last second grocery runs or driving inventory to the next garlic 😅. ALL the dishes, checking on the house, and being the emotional support that we can always count on.

One thing we will never say is that we built this alone. We absolutely did not. Our family has carried us through the hardest, busiest, and most beautiful seasons so far of our lifs, and we know without them, we wouldn’t be where we are today! 🤍🤍🤍🤍

To the women who love our boys like their own, show up without being asked, and support us endlessly behind the scenes… we hope you know how deeply appreciated and loved you are. We see everything you do. And we know how lucky we are. 😭🤍🤍🤍

THE BIG GARLIC FOND DU LAC WILL BE CLOSING EARLY TONIGHT 🧄

We’ll be closing a little early tonight at 7:30 PM so our team can get in a much needed deep clean at the restauraunt and a fresh reset!

It’s ALSO a special day for us our middle son Jameson turned 8 today 🥹🎉 and we’re taking the night to celebrate him as a family.

Thank you so much for understanding and supporting our small business it truly means the world to us. We’ll be back Tuesday refreshed and ready for you!

Oh hey there! 🖤🧄🤍🎉

Just dropping in with a few more updates from week two in Fondy…

Honestly… more love than we ever expected. We’re adjusting, learning, stocking up like crazy! milkshakes are out of control, kegs are tapping out, new employees are coming in, training is nonstop… and somehow we just wrapped another 100-hour work week 😅

We still don’t fully know how we’re doing it all, but if I had to guess…. it’s the positivity, our incredible team, the best family we could ever ask for, and getting to live out this dream every single day ❤️

Hitting maximum capacity daily and having a waitlist? We’re still in shock. Truly. 🥹

With that being said, because of the chaos (the good kind), we’ve decided to close Mondays here in Fond du Lac. We need one day to go home, be with our kids, reset, and catch up on everything behind the scenes.

Thank you all so much for the continued support. It truly means everything to us.

Tomorrow is officially one week since we opened the doors in Fondy!

This week has been a mix of excitement, exhaustion, adrenaline, pride, gratitude, and being completely humbled. Opening week is no joke!

Since Sunday, we’ve been in from eight am to midnight every single day LEARNING, adjusting, and giving it everything we have. In just one week, The Big Garlic has served 5,430 items of food… and every single order was giving it all we got right now.

In just one week, we’ve learned so much. First thing… people are hungry 😅 second, we might need a bigger building? 😅 third, our system has some kinks we need to iron out.

We are so blessed. We’ve cried happy tears from customers who have shown kindness, given gentle feedback, and told us the food was amazing. Even the smallest moments, like a thank you, a smile, or a kind review🥹 mean more than you know.

We are really proud of what we’ve built. It’s everyone behind The Garlic name, our rockstar employees who have been showing up and pushing through it all, and everyone connected to us as well.

We’re normally open Mondays and Tuesdays, but we’re taking this time to adjust, restock, and create a better flow.

THANK YOU Fond du Lac for an amazing first week also, thank you for all the reviews, support, and patience. And shoutout to Stevens Point for making it a busy one too! WE LOVE AND MISS YOU!
