Just a heads up. We will be closing this page down at the end of the month. It’s time.
I know a lot of you come to get updates on Mark, so feel free to creep on his or my private pages. 😂
It’s been an honor and privilege to get to know you all over the last 10 years.
We miss so many of you, but we really need to focus on our health now
Mark is starting over, trying to get an appetite back. He has lost 10 pounds since the hospital. It looks like he has something in his lungs again, this time they think it’s a viral infection.
I’m on Disability now, and feel better not being on my feet all day. I am having problems with getting really out of breath and tired. More appointments coming up for us both.
I’ll continue to update as they come in!

I know so many of you are praying for Mark and like updates, so I am posting the Drs findings for you. He slept for 22 hours as soon as he got home from the hospital and has been sleeping most of the time since. Please keep him in your prayers!

Mark July 30
From his General Oncologist:

He was discharged from the hospital just a little bit ago. He was admitted with hypercalcemia and renal failure. He was taking excessive vitamin D which he has stopped. His calcium has come down with hydration and the kidney function is slowly improving. He was seen by nephrology and it was felt that the kidney function would continue to improve and he has a follow-up in 2 to 3 weeks. He does have repeat labs ordered next week. He is quite fatigued. He did not sleep well in the hospital. He did not eat well either. It has been a long week.

Associate Findings:

He has been observed since he finished treatment in December. He was just discharged home as noted above. The calcium has come down. The kidney function has improved slightly. He will no longer take the vitamin D. He will push fluids. They did order repeat labs next week and a follow-up with nephrology. I explained that we would like to restage him as although the excessive vitamin D level can be the cause of the hypercalcemia and renal insufficiency, we do want to restage and rule out malignancy. We can get a CAT scan of the chest without dye. I explained that a CAT scan of the neck without dye is not useful so we will hold off on that. If he is not feeling improved, he will call in otherwise he does have repeat labs ordered next week as noted. He will push fluids and understands the importance of this. He will call with any changes and otherwise we will see him a day or 2 after the CAT scan.

Mark got home late this afternoon , July 30. We will update you on his condition after he settles in. Thank you for your continued support .

He’s is the hospital again for the same thing as this spring. His blood panel was all over the place and his calcium is way too high again.
