My Pizza

We have limited seating but can accommodate medium sized parties. One thing you WONT be disappointed about is the food. That is guaranteed.

So choose pizza-- classic pizza or fancy toppings. My favorite is a plain slice of pizza and I put oregano sprinkled on it. You have to get the basics right, then the rest falls into place. So the sauce has to be right.. But many of our customers love our more complex Alfredo pie: we have regular crust and deep-dish crust.

Have a chicken parm dinner, or lasagna, or, my favorite: 6 raviolis with marinara sauce and our delicious Italian bread to dunk.

Stay for dessert. Classic NY Cheesecake, Red Velvet Cake and several other choices. The food here is fancy, but our attitudes are down-to-earth.

Yes! We stay open on snowy days!
So far, Dept of Sanitation is doing their job cleaning the snow off the streets.

National Grid and Con Edison are both working in Staten Island, no problem so far with the snow...

And did I mention our sauce checker is a 4th generation Calabrese Staten Islander?

Grew up tasting sauce a few times a week when it was cooking.

We didnt have McD happy meals back then, my happy meal was a slice of bread dunked in the sauce that my mother (or father) would dunk for me and give each of the kids to snack on until the sauce was fully cooked.

So to me, that was my "happy meal" because bread dipped in sauce reminds me of those happy childhood times.

Because we were kids, my Dad would dunk a slice of Wonder Bread flat on the sauce, and put it face-up in a plate. Why Wonder and not Italian Bread? Probably because we had Italian Bread at dinner time. If I could ask them now, I gladly would, with bells on!

Oh, and we have zeppoles. We put powdered sugar on them. They are a commercial variation because otherwise I would be making the dough all day long, and cooking zeppoles all day long, and the line would be out the door! For now, when I grab a 1/2 dozen, sprinkle the powdered sugar and close my eyes, the taste is like home. That's why we call it "My Pizza"- Close to Home.

Just FYI did you guys know the Staten Island Advance had one of their contests in November for best plain pizza slice and My Pizza had a not-too-shabby #8 out of all the 200 pizzerias in Staten Island??
Last year my fav SI Advance also had a contest for best specialty slice and My Pizza finished at #10 out of the 200+ pizzerias on Staren Island? Again, not too shabby!...
