Mark your calendars for Pepper Fest August 8th from 10am to 2pm.

We'll have an expanded market with a Cantina sponsored by Area Agency on Aging, kids activities, pepper roasting by Oakwoods and more.

The Empire Market is a four-season city market that combines farm fresh goodness, hand-crafted products, community gardens and local gourmet food, all in one location that is easily accessible to the Joplin community. Customers can shop for their weekly groceries, find unique gifts, enjoy live music and a meal, all within the market’s laid back atmosphere.

Open 10am-2pm, every Saturday.

Join us for our annual seed swap event! This year, we will have seeds to give away, information on gardening and plants, and will showcase some of the ways the community garden is working to make gardening accessible to everyone! You are welcome to bring seeds, but do not have to bring any in order to participate. We will have natives, pollinators, herbs, veggies, and fruits.
We have invited Master Gardeners and Master Naturalists to attend as well--so keep watching our page for updates!
After, be sure to shop with our farmers and artisans. Pick up a fresh pour over from Cottage Small Coffee Roasters and wander the market halls! Grab lunch in the cafe area and listen to local live music!

The Joplin Empire Market and the Downtown Joplin Alliance will be hosting the 7th Annual Empire Market Chili Cookoff at the Market on January 17!
Awards will be given for 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place, as well as People's Choice.
Judging begins at 10:00am and public tasting is from 10:30am-2pm (or when the chili runs out!). Hear what the judges have to say and then cast your vote for whose chili is best in the People’s Choice Award!
Admission into the tasting hall will be $5 - this grants access to taste all chili and vote in the People's Choice. Tickets can be purchased at the door or at the ticket link above. All proceeds will support Downtown Joplin Alliance and the Empire Market!
