On this cold and rainy night we needed something to warm us up so we added some short ribs to our Pomodoro e Basilico sauce and served over penne pasta. Yum!!

Today we visited Barletta and Trani in the region of Puglia. What beautiful cities!! Puglia scores lots of bonus points because it is most definitely off the beaten path; we were the only tourists there!

This is what we bought at the local produce store today...1/2 kg tomatoes, 1kg carrots, 3 different kinds of lettuce, 5 cantaloupes, 3 kg of peaches and nectarines, 2 kg of apricots, 1 kg cherries and 1/2 kg of figs (a kg = 2.2 lbs for reverence). All of it is grown locally and most of it in their own fields. Would you believe me if all of this cost only €22 (about $26)? I think we are set for a few days.

We had a great day showing our sauce around Napoli! Two of the highlights were Posilipo, which offers breathtaking views, and Stadio San Paolo, the stadium that is the home to , our favorite soccer team.

Today we vistited the Uffizi Gallery with the best tour guide there is (it helps that he’s my brother)! Our sauce even enjoyed the museum 😉

This is what lunch at the beach looks like in our family! We always bring a “Frittata di Maccheroni” which is basically fried leftover pasta. It is super traditional for those in the Napoli area of Italy to pack this for lunch when they go to the beach. Yes, we are still in Tuscany but our family is from Naples, so that is what we do!
