August 5 2009, my first Gioia’s pic posted to Facebook. I took it with my digital camera and uploaded to my Mac Book which is in the picture. I put the sandwich on a fancy plate I borrowed from Gian and Tony’s. 17 years ago. Whoa.

A couple weeks ago, Amanda and I took the kids on a little St. Louis staycation, and it reminded us just how special this city really is.
The Zoo. The Science Center. The Anheuser-Busch tour. Amazing neighborhoods. Incredible food.
That trip inspired our new mural.
We asked local artist Kenzie Wolk to create something that captured the spirit of St. Louis—not just Gioia's. We wanted it to celebrate the city that has supported our family business for more than 100 years.
She absolutely nailed it.
Next time you're on The Hill, stop by, grab a sandwich, and check it out. We hope it reminds you why we're all so lucky to call St. Louis home. ❤️💚
