Big news, St. Louis. We're bringing competitive eating royalty to Salvage Yard Bar and Grill.🍕

On October 17th, we're hosting our first annual Junk Yard Dog Challenge featuring the world's best competitive eater and Nathan's Hot Dog eating champion, Joey Chestnut. Yes, THE Joey Chestnut.

Here's how the day breaks down. We'll kick things off with an indoor meet and greet where you can grab a photo, get an autograph, and meet the man himself. Then we head into the main event: a challenge where eaters take on our Junk Yard Dog... an absolutely massive deep-dish pizza, piled high with 8lbs of meat, cheese and sauce.

Joining Joey in the challenge are some of St. Louis's own top competitive eaters, taking on the monster pizza right alongside him.

The rumors are true. World Champion Competitive Eater and Nathan's Hot Dog Champion Joey Chestnut is coming to Salvage Yard Bar & Grill in Southampton on October 17th, 2026 for our first annual Junk Yard Dog Challenge. 🍕💪

Joey will be taking on 8 lbs of our Chicago style deep dish in 45 minutes. And he won't be doing it alone. Some of St. Louis's own competitive eaters will be right there next to him, taking on the same challenge side by side.

The day starts with an indoor meet and greet where you can get a photo with the champ himself, then the eating will begin. Don't miss your chance to see the world's best eater do what he does best 🔥

Our very first Junk Yard Dog Challenge is officially in the books, and it was the one and only Randy "Atlas" Santel who took this monster on. 🐾🍕

After some careful consideration (and advice from the experts), we're raising the time limit from 30 minutes to 45. From here on out, that's the number every challenger has to beat.

We had zero doubt in Randy's skills, and we were beyond happy to welcome him to Salvage Yard. The Wall of Fame is officially underway.

BIG thanks to everyone who came up a few nights ago to watch me attempt the massive and undefeated 8.5 lb “Junk Yard Dog” Chicago-Style Deep Dish Pizza Challenge at Salvage Yard Bar and Grill in South St. Louis, Missouri!! I had 45 minutes to finish the entire pizza, which was basically a double meat lovers pizza filled with bacon, sausage, ham, cheese, sauce, and pepperoni slices. I was trying to become the first champion to win my $60 meal free plus a $50 gift card to use later and a spot on their Wall of Fame!! Thanks to everybody who watched the livestream as well!!

I haven’t really promoted tonight’s “Junk Yard Dog” Pizza Challenge event too much, because I’m hoping the restaurant isn’t overwhelmed, and I’ll need to be focused on the challenge, but it starts at 6pm CDT and I should be live, since it’s at Salvage Yard Bar and Grill in Saint Louis, Missouri. It’s been available since 2025 and not one single person has been brave enough to try it, since there is a 30 minute time limit and the deep dish pizza weighs over 8 lbs total!! I’m as ready as I can be, so we will see what happens!! I’ll have filming and photo help, so I should be live by 6:20pm. Thanks for all support!! Time to actually shut up and eat!! 😂
