Reinstate Our Liquor License Renewal in Lake Saint Louis

While we have been closed for for some time now, there was a special part of our small crew. Kenny was a dear friend. Kenny didn’t work often and when he did it was because we were swamped. He just jumped in to help. That’s who Kenny was. He’d laugh about his lack of culinary skills but would still cut up the veggies, clean and wash dishes. He just wanted to help. Never wanted to see anyone struggling in his presence. When we’d finally catch a down moment we’d laugh and cut up. He loved to talk about his kids and grandkids. Often even advising my own child through life.

We met at Lovin Oven in Florissant (circa 2001??). Kenny was part of my hiring process 😂😂😂. The manager there had an easy hiring process.

1) act as if you own the place we’ll both make money
2) your on camera at all times any problem with that… leave now.
3) spend 5 minutes with these 2 clowns (Kenny and Rocco). If you get their approval you can handle anything in this place and you’ have yourself a job.

After 5 minutes with Kenny and Rocco the boss came out and asked how I did. Kenny was cracking up and said “oh she’s going to be just fine!!!!”

Because of that job for me… I met the father of my child. I fell in love with the art of bartending AND went on to own 2 bars and a restaurant. Which I met my husband at Motley's Pub 'n Grub.

Looking back at it. Kenny’s approval truly shaped my whole story. Before that I was mainly a cocktail waitress. But I HATED it!! I had the skill set to be behind a bar and I just needed one person to believe in me and place me there.

I don’t believe I ever met Kelly. But I feel as if I knew her and his kids. He talked about them so highly. I can’t imagine this amount of loss.

If you have a way to help… I’m sure that Kenny’s family would greatly appreciate it. It’s hard to believe I’ll never hear his voice again. But it sure is etched on my heart. Rest easy my friend.

I want to thank everyone that has come down and experienced Motley's on Main. You are truly appreciated!

With that said. After strong considerations I have decided to close Motley's on Main.

Today, Saturday, June 30th will be our last day of operations.

Please join us today for some great food and laughs with our great staff. Great drink specials too!! 🍻🥂🍸🍹🍴🥄

Everyone of them has been truly amazing and very supportive. Each individual one has had me in tears of joy with their encouraging words. Kevin, Alyssa, Stephanie, Kurt, Shelly, Nicole, Abby.... a round of applause to you all. 👏👏👏

So to anyone who helped from the start of this journey and to the end. Thanks for everything I truly mean it. The Motley's "family" grew even stronger this round.

Everyone always asks what my next venture is. You all know I love exploring business opportunities. But for now it's time off from entrepreneurship. Time to spend some quality time with the daughter, future husband, family and friends.... There's a wedding to plan!

Well it's an awesome idea to carpool to work until you're all in one car and the car breaks down. Ahhhhh.... can't make this stuff up. With that said we'll be opening late today. We have a savior on the way to get us and take us all there. We'll see ya soon! Thank goodness for shade of QT's canopy right now.

It's surely been a HOT one! One thing cool here is definitely the indoor dining and cold beverages. Looks like today is one of the coolest days of the week. Come share it with us. Greek cucumber salad sure is refreshing in this heat.

1/3 lb. hand patted burger topped with cream cheese, cheddar cheese and jalapeños with choice of one side for $9.00 plus tax.

Pair it with a pineapple margarita!

Edit: The radar makes as much sense as it has the last couple weeks 😂 we are on our way in just opening late will see you soon will ride out the storm whatever it brings us.
