WEATHER CLOSURE | THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15

We've made the decision to close The Railyard for the evening due to the rainy weather.

Thursdays can already be a little unpredictable this time of year, and adding rain to the mix makes it even tougher for our small food vendors. Rather than have everyone prepare food that may go unsold, we feel it's best to call it a night.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support of our vendors! ❤️

We'll be back in action tomorrow!

It’s that time of year - a perfect day for some smokehouse chili and cornbread!! You’re in luck, because we have both today at The Railyard on Historic Route 66!

Oh hey! Things are getting wild around here! Brad will still be smoking al the delicious BBQ! Come see us to celebrate taking over operations of The Railyard on Historic Route 66 and celebrate some good fall weather too!!

Tim and Emily Lewis are stepping back from managing The Railyard — the outdoor food venue they have operated since February 2025.

Brad and Adria Martin, who run Oakview BBQ in one of the four food-vendor shipping containers at the Railyard, will be taking the reins as of Oct 1.

We’ve got the FULL Oakview menu ready to go! Whether you’re hungry for a whole meal or just need your favorite snack, we’ve got you covered.
And we’ve already been seeing plenty of cool cars cruising down Route 66 ahead of this weekend’s festivities.

Grab some BBQ, find a spot outside and watch ’em roll by. Sounds like a pretty good Thursday night to us!

🏁 ROUTE 66 WEEKEND IS COMING FAST! 🏁

Springfield is getting ready to celebrate 100 years of Route 66 during the Mother Road Festival this weekend, and you know what sits right along the Mother Road?

Oakview BBQ at The Railyard!

And Friday night is going to be especially fun because the Route 66 Cruise is heading right past The Railyard - Springfield, IL!

Grab some great food and drinks from your favorite Railyard vendors, find a spot outside and enjoy the nostalgia as those classic cars cruise right by.

The cars. The food. The atmosphere. How fun is THAT going to be?!

There’s something pretty cool about celebrating 100 years of Route 66 right here ON Route 66.

Okay Springfield, we want to hear from you! Have you been to The Railyard before?

Maybe you've stopped in for dinner, caught some live music, came out for an event, or maybe you've driven right by and wondered what was back here.

The Railyard is a little different. We're an open-air food court on Historic Route 66, home to independently owned local businesses serving up:

Mexican Cuisine • Smoked Meats & Comfort Foods • Specialty Egg Rolls • Pastries, Sweets & Ice Cream • Drinks

But we're about more than food. We want The Railyard to be a place to eat, hang out, hear some music, bring the family and enjoy something happening right here in Springfield.

And as we get ready for this next chapter, we want your input too.

‼️ THE WAFFLEWICH MISHAP ‼️

Well… turns out the waffles decided to humble us this morning.

This one was definitely trial and error! Because of the sugar in the waffles, making them ahead of time caused them to harden up much faster than we expected. They still taste amazing — but they’re not up to the quality we feel good about serving.
So unfortunately, THE WAFFLEWICH is no longer available today. 🧇💔

We’re sorry to everyone who was excited to try one! Back to the drawing board we go — apparently smoking meat is easier than waffles. 😂

This Thursday is our final Worship Night of the season at The Railyard - Springfield, IL!

We’re closing out this season’s Worship Night series with a little extra love for our community. ❤️

We’ll be collecting hygiene items for Contact Ministries to help support women and children in need.
Check out the list of requested items in the graphic below, and bring your donations to the stage anytime during open hours on Thursday.

Fall mornings are made for brunch… and with this weather headed our way Saturday, what more could you ask for than warm waffles and smoked meats?! 🍂

So, in true Oakview fashion, we smashed it all together and came up with something you're gonna want to get your hands on.

Introducing THE WAFFLEWICH 🧇

Sweet meets savory in this one.

A warm, maple-flavored Belgian waffle dotted with little pockets of sweetness, stuffed with egg, melty cheese and your choice of bacon, chopped brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, or jalapeño brisket sausage.

And because it IS a waffle, we're sending a little side of syrup along with it. Pour it. Dip it. You decide.

It's sweet. It's salty. It's savory. And you're gonna need both hands.

The Wafflewich makes its brunch debut THIS SATURDAY, September 19 at 9:00 AM!
