“To Everything There is a Season”….song written by Pete Seeger, 1959. Mordecai’s season is ending on July 21, 2024 just shy of being in business for 20 years in Springfield, KY. As we turn this page for our family and congratulated the new owners, The Big Bull Steak House, want to say thank you. Thank you to all of our friends (customers) for sharing your celebrations, weddings, birthdays, lunch meetings, banquets and even the tears when we losted loved ones. We appreciate your support over the years. Our staff…so, so many staff over the years, have been a big part of the Mordecai’s family —thank you! But one person that must be mentioned—Larry Godshall, who recently retired and well deserved, the head chef who made Mordecai’s known across the state for the best food in Centeral KY. His Seven Pepper Soup, Pimento Cheese, Heavenly Chicken and let’s not forget his smile on Sunday mornings when he was making omelets, are just a few of so many delicious dishes that he prepared over the years. Larry was such a big part of the Mordecai’s family. Thank you!
While the name will change, for us, downtown Springfield will always hold good memories of friends and family at Mordecai’s on Main. Our page has turned and the season has changed but memories are forever-thank you. Keith, Taylora, Colton, Will, (Taylor Rae-Rae of Sunshine Foundation Rae of ☀️), David Clay and Mordecai’s Staff.
