It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you of a decision that has been both difficult and painful for us to make. After careful consideration and deliberation, we regret to announce that Missouri Mikes Battlefield and Deli Mike's will be closing its doors permanently, effective October 1, 2023. This decision was made after much soul-searching and is due to a combination of factors that have made it increasingly challenging for our business to continue operations. These factors include family, buildings and other influences.
We understand that the Battlefield location has been a cherished part of this community for the last few years. It has been our privilege to serve the people of Springfield and beyond, providing delicious food, warm hospitality, and a gathering place for friends and families. We have built meaningful relationships with our loyal customers, and our dedicated employees have become an integral part of our Missouri Mikes family.
The decision to close Missouri Mikes Battlefield and Deli was not made lightly by me and our family. We have faced a variety of challenges over the years, including economic fluctuations, rising operational costs, and the unforeseen difficulties posed by the global pandemic. These factors coupled with insane hours that have taken me away from food and family both of which I still thoroughly love has forced me to make a decision. Despite our best efforts to manage time and resources, I want to focus more of my time of the creation of food, catering and having fun again.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who has supported us throughout our journey. Your patronage, loyalty, and warm friendships have meant the world to us. To our employees, both past and present, we extend our deepest thanks for your hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional service.
While the physical space of Missouri Mikes Battlefield and Deli may be closing, the memories and connections forged within these walls will live on forever. We hope that you will continue to support Missouri Mike's BBQ & More and other local businesses in our community, as they are the lifeblood that keeps our town vibrant and thriving.
In Missouri Mike's fashion, pay attention to the Chestnut location as we are changing things up a bit! Lunch service will remain the same. Dinner will become table service. We are developing a more comprehensive catering menu focusing on corporate lunches. There are even rumors of a secluded "sports bar" area with a very nice selection of drinks, food and entertainment available. 7 day a week bbq and even thought about bringing breakfast back.
Once again, we want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has been a part of our Missouri Mikes family. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you all, and we will carry the memories of our time together with us always.
Thank you for your understanding, your support, and the cherished memories we have shared. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors and hope that our paths may cross again someday.
