8/4/2024. As it is approaching three years since I’ve made a pie or fried catfish at The Old School Cafe, the dream of maybe reopening or doing another restaurant is slowly fading.
I can’t help wanting to rekindle the community fellowship atmosphere that we had for almost 20 years. You just don’t have that anymore, unless you have Nelly’s for lunch.
I want to thank anyone who ever has breakfast or lunch with us. If you had Friday night dinner with us, that was special and fun serving food that would cost 30$ in Franklin for 15$- I wish I could’ve kept doing it but it dang near killed me.
I wanted to thank y’all for supporting us, while I was living a dream of owning my own restaurant.
Hopefully there will be somewhere that Community Fellowship will be restored. God Bless you, and Thanks for all the prayers

It saddens me to announce that Heaven got a new Angel yesterday. Miss Bobbie was at the Old School Cafe the entire time we were open, nineteen years. I have so much Love for this lady and always thought of her as family. She will be missed but I know Austin is happy that she’s in Heaven with him.

Just an update. I had surgery Friday June 16 on my neck and spine. It was successful and I’m home from Vanderbilt healing. I’ll start Physical Therapy soon. I want to Thank everyone for their prayers and kind thoughts. This was very scary because I lost my ability to walk and it took 7 months to diagnose the problem. God is Great because I’m walking with a walker just 3 days after surgery and getting stronger each day. I still have a long way to go. The past two years have been difficult but I know God has a plan for me. Thanks for all of your support and Prayers.

It’s been a while since I’ve added an update. I was hoping to announce at some point what the first step in the next chapter of my life is. At the moment it’s in God’s hands. In November I discovered lower back pain, which has now gone into extreme weakness in my legs. Walking has been slow and difficult and standing for more than a few minutes painful.
I’m getting two more MRI’s Monday and hopefully the Neurologist will be able to give me a diagnosis. I’m asking for good thoughts and prayers from Believers for some insight and a path to recovery.
I want to thank my neighbor Ross Denham for mowing my yard
and my girlfriend Sherry Morris for helping me throughout this new ordeal. I Love you ❤️.
Hopefully next week, I will have some good news or a diagnosis to post. Thanks in advance for your prayers. God Bless you 🙏

I wanted to share this amazing gift that local artist, former patron,and friend Susan Jones gave to me. I might not have the Cafe anymore but the Cafe will always be with me.
God Bless Y’all- I miss the Family atmosphere and seeing Everyone. Is there any where to get a good Lunch. Asking for a friend. Lol 😂
