A Great Fall Weekend to Stop by McKenzie Lakes Orchard and Pottery

It’s a beautiful fall day to stop by and pick up some delicious, fresh apples!

We have plenty of our wonderful Sweet 16 apples, along with a limited supply of Macintosh and Honeycrisp apples. Grab a bag—or two—for snacking, baking, pies, or making your favorite apple dessert!

We also have a limited supply of our famous Sweet Heat Pickles, along with our wonderful selection of one-of-a-kind pottery and woodcrafts, honey, maple syrup, salsa, jams, and more.

There’s always something homemade and unique to discover at the orchard!

Rain or shine, it’s a great weekend to pick up some fresh apples! Whether you’re looking for apples to enjoy fresh, bake into a delicious crisp or pie, or make into homemade applesauce, we’ve got you covered.

This weekend, we’ll have fresh-picked Honeycrisp apples—perfect for eating, Sweet 16 apples—great for both eating and baking, and our snack-sized Frostbite apples. Frostbites are delicious for snacking and have a wonderfully unique flavor!

We’ll also have some of our seasonal favorites, including: Honey Butter, Apple Chips, Maple Candy, Shish*to Peppers, Tomatoes, Garlic and Onions Red (Red Velvet) and Yellow (Walla Walla)

And, of course, we’ll have our usual selection of one-of-a-kind pottery and woodcrafts, handmade games, honey, maple syrup and salsas.

We hope you can stop by and see us this weekend!

Wowza - Summer should get a speeding ticket - it’s Labor Day weekend already!

We have 🍎 ZESTAR 🍎apples (fresh picked but limited quantity), honey butter, restocked jam, pickles and salsa. Of course, there’s still “one-of-a kind” pottery, cutting boards and other goodies.

We’d love to be a part of your weekend and hope you’ll stop by. Our hours are Fri, Sat & Sun 9-4 - we will be closed Monday.

While the temperature may still say “summer,” Labor Day marks the unofficial beginning of fall for many of us—and with it comes one of our favorite annual fall traditions: Grandma Sally’s Honey Butter!

Named after Craig’s mom, who still holds the original recipe, this deliciously sweet and creamy spread is perfect on toast, English muffins, or bagels. But honestly, you may find yourself reaching for a spoon and eating it straight from the container!

🍂 The first batch will be available starting tomorrow. 🍂

Fall just wouldn’t be the same without Grandma Sally’s Honey Butter!

And just like that… apple season has officially begun!

This morning we started picking some of our Red Duchess and State Fair apples, so that’s the good news!

The not-so-good news — and something many of you have been asking about — is that our apple crop is going to be very limited this year. A late freeze during bloom took its toll, and the drought we’ve been experiencing certainly hasn’t helped.

As we’ve mentioned before, we’re not a commercial orchard. This is our hobby… admittedly, a rather BIG hobby! We do this because we enjoy it, and that means we’re very much at the mercy of Mother Nature. Some years she cooperates, and some years… well, she has other plans.

We’ll continue picking fresh apples every morning and will post what we have available each day. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

We’ll also have some beautiful Mount Royal plums this weekend, and most likely again next weekend.

And that’s not all! We’ll have:
🍅 Fresh cherry tomatoes (and possibly a few other varieties)
Peppers
Fresh garlic
Great Walla Walla onions
Our usual selection of pickles
Honey
Syrup
Pottery
…and plenty of other goodies.

We hope you can make it out to see us this weekend! Fresh-picked produce, homemade goodies, and a little bit of Northwoods orchard goodness.
