We recently celebrated Gage and 36 incredible years at Frank’s. ❤️🚂

Today, Spokane celebrated her, too.

Mayor Lisa Brown stopped by Frank’s during lunch to surprise Gage with a Community Service Pin, honoring her decades of service to the Spokane community — and safe to say, Gage was a little excited. 🥹❤️

In her words:

“Such a COOL day! Mayor Lisa Brown came into Frank’s at lunch. She awarded me a Special ‘Community Service Pin’ for my years of service to the Spokane Community. WOW! I was THRILLED!”

For 36 years, Gage has done so much more than serve meals. She’s remembered names, watched families grow, welcomed generations through our doors, and helped make Frank’s feel like home.

We couldn’t think of anyone more deserving. ❤️🚂

This morning, breakfast meant a little more. ❤️

We had the privilege of treating a handful of incredible American Red Cross volunteers to breakfast at Frank’s — people who have traveled from North Carolina, Mississippi, Indiana, and beyond to show up for our Spokane community during a time when so many need support.

They didn’t have to come here. But they did.

They left their own homes, families and routines to step into ours — to help our neighbors, support wildfire relief efforts, and remind us what it looks like to care for people you’ve never even met.

And somehow, in the middle of all of it, they told us how much they’ve fallen in love with Spokane. ❤️ We’re pretty fond of this city, too.

To every volunteer, first responder, organization and neighbor showing up right now: thank you. It was our honor to fill a few plates for the people doing so much to help fill the needs of our community.

Spokane takes care of people — and we’re incredibly grateful for the people who have traveled from across the country to take care of Spokane. ❤️

The last several days have reminded me what hospitality really means.

When the fires changed so many lives in our community, the teams at Frank’s Diner and The Onion Taphouse & Grill immediately asked, “How can we help?”

In just 36 hours, our employees filled a pickup with food, toiletries, and essential supplies for firefighters and displaced families.

Servers, cooks, hosts, dishwashers, bartenders, and managers —people who work hard for what they have — went shopping for strangers. No one asked them to. They simply saw people hurting and stepped in.

That’s hospitality: taking care of people, whether they’re at your table, or part of our community.

To our team: you are selfless, generous, and I am incredibly proud of you.

This is Spokane taking care of Spokane. ❤️

❣️ If you’d like to help, the team at Second Harvest INW are still accepting donations and their team/volunteers are absolutely wonderful.

Through the smoke, fear, and uncertainty, we’re reminded what community truly means: showing up, standing together, and caring for one another. Spokane, we’re with you through it all. ❤️

36 years. ❤️🚂

Some people have a job.
Some people become an intricate part of a place’s story.

Gage Lee has been part of Frank’s Diner since the day we opened our doors. For 36 years, she’s greeted sleepy early risers, welcomed first-time visitors, hugged countless regulars, brewed what has to be nearly 10 gallons of coffee every single morning, and somehow makes everyone who visits Frank’s feel like they belong.

She met the love of her life right here at Frank’s. She raised her family in Spokane — a community she loves deeply. And over the last three and a half decades, she’s become a Spokane staple herself.

If you’ve been to Frank’s, chances are you’ve been welcomed by Gage. And if you’ve been lucky enough to know her, you know exactly why so many people keep coming back.

When we asked Gage what 36 years means to her, she smiled and said:

“I don’t count the years… I count the blessings. And I have been so blessed — there’s no place I’d rather be.”

We think that’s exactly why she’s so loved.

Congratulations, Gage, on an incredible 36 years. Thank you for every cup of coffee, every conversation, every smile, and every morning you’ve made Frank’s feel like home.

💜 If you’re in the neighborhood this week, stop by, ask for Gage, and order her favorite — the Huckleberry Waffles. Even better, leave her a congratulations in the comments so we can show her just how much this community appreciates everything she’s poured into Spokane over the last 36 years.

Here’s to Gage. Here’s to Frank’s. And here’s to many more mornings together. 🥞☕✨

Every booth at Frank’s has a story… but today’s was one for the history books. 🕰️

Today we had the honor of serving local legend Jerry Quinn Sr., whose efforts helped save Spokane’s iconic Clock Tower from demolition before Expo ‘74. Thanks to him and the “Save Our Stations” movement, one of our city’s most recognizable landmarks still stands today!

Thank you for preserving a piece of Spokane history—and for sharing your incredible story with us. 🚂🕰️ Spokane wouldn’t be the same without people like you. ❤️
