Señor Froggy South Regal

Señor Froggy South Regal Two great tastes under one roof, Mexican and Italian
We are 100% local. Senor Froggy was originated right here in Spokane in 1979 by Dave Hooke. Our first store was at 1918 N. Division and that store is still cranking out food today. Dave built up to 6 restaurants and in 2000 started selling them to long time managers. Not having much money, Dave and Lisa built furniture, cabinets, did the tile work and long spent hours building the stores. Dave and Lisa Hooke still own the Senor Froggy at 3024 S. Regal. We have always used local suppliers. Dave developed all of our recipes and there has been only 2 changes since the beginning. Dave still develops new recipes and watches the quality of our food very closely. This year Dave will celebrate 50 years in the Mexican food business. Most of the décor in our store was and hand carried from different parts Mexico by Dave and Lisa. In many cases we bought it from the artists and craftsmen who made it. We started selling Italian Food in 2002 in response to "hard times" in the industry. It boosted our sales by 25% and put us back in the black. All 3 of our Italian sauces are made from scratch daily. If you haven't tried our Italian Express menu, you should! All of our sauces are gluten free. We offer gluten free spaghetti also. We also make Lasagna from scratch almost daily. We cook taco meat, refried beans, black beans and 2 kinds of rice everyday. Some things like the taco meat and alfredo are made fresh several times each day. We also cook taco shells and corn tortilla chips everyday. We have always been health conscious and are currently working on a complete nutrition breakdown for all of our menu items. We take great pride in the cleanliness of our store. Dave was once told by a delivery driver that there was only one other restaurant in town that was as clean as ours!

Happy 70th Birthday to Dave Hooke May 30th. He started Senor Froggy in 1979 with a lot of help from some good people who thought he got a raw deal from his previous employer. Here he is, over 40 years later. Two very competent women run our South Regal Senor Froggy / Italian Express. This enables Dave to spend summers at Lake Roosevelt and part of the winter in Mazatlan, Mexico.

Congratulations to our 2020 graduates! Thanks for being such awesome people! (and workers!)

The Governor says he will sign an order to impose a temporary statewide shutdown of bars and restaurants. We will wait to see what this actually means. It talks about not allowing any indoor dining. We will strive to ramp up our drive up service to move customers through faster. If this happens, please be patient with us and other customers as we work through the kinks! And as you keep hearing, WASH YOUR HANDS! We are!

As most of our customers know, we are a small, local Spokane company. We started here in 1979 and remain small. We do not have a marketing department. I have received an email from every company I deal with detailing their COVID-19 protocol. Rather than draft my own narrative I hope I am legally okay with forwarding this one from Papa Murphy's. It seems to convey what I would say without all the jargon that some use. THANK YOU PAPA MURPHY'S.

Thank you for your continued patronage,
Lisa Hooke, Senor Froggy / Italian Express South Regal

To Our Valued Guests,

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to have an increased impact on our communities, we want you to know that providing clean store environments and safe food served by healthy team members is always our first priority. We are monitoring the situation closely and are following updates and guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help keep you and our team members safe and healthy.

We continue to implement the following ongoing health and safety procedures at stores:

Proper and frequent sanitization of all frequently touched surfaces in guest areas
Proper and frequent sanitization of all equipment, utensils and surfaces in food preparation and service areas
Proper and frequent handwashing using soap and water
Use of gloves when handling food
Store employees with any signs or symptoms of sickness are prohibited from working
Please be assured that we will continue to monitor information from public health officials and following the guidelines to help minimize any risk to our guests and team members. We are committed to helping keep our community safe.

Thank you for your ongoing support and loyalty.

NATIONAL SKIP THE STRAW DAY – Fourth Friday in February

https://nationaldaycalendar.com/national-skip-the-straw-day-fourth-friday-in-february/
You ask - wasn't January 3 National Straw Day? Well, that is why we are such a great country. A day for everyone!
We allow inside customers to decide on the straw. If you are at our drive up you can request "no straw". Just cut us some slack - sometimes it is automatic to pass it out with the beverage!

On the fourth Friday in February The Coral Keepers ask you to consider a different way on National Skip the Straw Day! If Marvin Stone (the inventor of the first paper s...

NATIONAL FETTUCCINE ALFREDO DAY National Fettuccine Alfredo Day is observed annually on February 7th. Alfredo di Lelio, an Italian restaurateur, created Fettuccine Alfredo in 1908. GET TO KNOW YOUR CUSTOMERS DAY – Third Thursday of Each Quarter (January, April, July, October)

https://nationaldaycalendar.com/get-to-know-your-customers-day-third-thursday-of-each-quarter/

What a great idea for a "day". We have so many great customers and some of our employees do a good job of recognizing them but we can always do better! A few years back we did a photo series where we highlighted some people. Do you want to be on our FB page? Talk to one of the managers and we'll get you on here. I'll rerun a few of our original posts in the next few days!

GET TO KNOW YOUR CUSTOMERS DAY Get to Know Your Customers Day reminds businesses to reach out to patrons and get to know them better. Josh at the drive in window went out of his way to be a flippant junior A%%Ho*&. He told me I needed ranch and not the hot sauce and gave me a ben burrito instead of the meat burrito I ordered. Yes, we, you ...all of us could trivialize these moves, but he seemed to think everyone else is stupid. Sorry Josh, no pass on this one!
Hello Senor Froggy!
Please say thank you to the young woman working the window today at 4:00 PM. She was polite, nice and professional and went above and beyond what was required. Employees like that are hard to find, she's a keeper!!
