Edit: For those of you who are angered by my post... I am in no way complaining anout taking care of our employees. I work very hard to take care of our people, because I love, respect and appreciate every single one of them. What i Am doing with this post is trying to apologize and explain to our customers (who we also love, cherish and respect) that we have to pass the costs on by raising our prices a slight bit. Anyone that doesn't understand that obviously doesn't know us very well, if at all. So im sorry if you are triggered by this post, but the people that it is directed toward know that we are approaching this with as much love, care and respect that we possibly can. I didnt need to make a post at all, but we care enough about everyone involved to try to offer up an explanation. I didnt even get into how much our overall costs have increased. I provided just one example of what the situation is.
We all know that Stormin Normans has the best customers in Spokane. So I just wanted to let you know that we love you so much and appreciate you all so much.
We try really hard to keep Shipfaced an affordable option for you all, especially with prices going so crazy everywhere. It drives me crazy that you can't go out to dinner anymore without spending $100 or more. With that being said, the economy and specifically Washington's economy: taxes, minimum wage, utilities and food costs have skyrocketed.
As one example, We are about to celebrate 8 years since we first opened. I went back and looked, and was shocked to see that since we opened in 2018, minimum wage went from $11.50 to today it is $17.13. That is dang near double. We have 19 employees. The increase in minimum wage over the last 8 years is the equivalent of going from 19 to 31 employees at 11.50 an hour. This is just one example of what we are facing. I understand that people need a living wage and have no problem paying our employees what they are worth.
We care so much for our employees and our customers, but in order to keep our doors open, we are going to be putting a new menu out tomorrow with a very slight increase in prices. We simply can't afford to keep absorbing all these increases without making a change to our prices.
We truly hope that you all understand the need to do this. We haven't raised our prices for the last 2 years, but feel that we just have no choice.
The good news.... all beer, wine and liquor will remain the same price!!
Love you all and we look forward to many more years!
