New coffee alert!!!

Peru Chonta
Sumatra Mandheling

We’re adding these two to our lineup this week. Both have their strengths. If you’re looking for a sweeter, balanced cup of coffee to wake you up, this is a great selection.

On the other hand, we have this Sumatran to savor on with its smooth, full-bodied cup that tells a story over hours next to a fire. Darker roasted fans will love this coffee!

We’re excited for both. Give them a try or any of our other great coffees at BakerMountainRoastery.com.

Thursday’s, behind the scenes…

For those curious, over the next few Thursdays we will post a little behind the scenes action of Baker Mountain Roastery.

Small disclaimer which is obvious, we are raw on purpose. I don’t sugar coat our operations. We enjoy the roasting but to be honest that’s just a part of the business. Forethought of trustworthy suppliers, green coffee selections and scheduling of roasts take as much time and sometimes more.

So, for those that love coffee as much as we do, we’ll start you with a roast in progress; our Peru Cajamarca. This will be a medium roast.

Enjoy!

Wednesday Coffee Minute

Ever wonder why the same coffee can taste different from one roaster to another?

The green coffee is only part of the story. Time, temperature, airflow, and development all influence what ends up in your cup.

Two roasters can start with the exact same coffee and produce two completely different experiences.

That's one of the things we love most about roasting - bringing out the character that was already hidden inside the bean.

What's one flavor you always hope to find in your morning coffee?

PSA… This was a roast done for my own sampling of a Brazilian Peaberry I’m looking at.

Some mornings begin with a cup of coffee.

Ours begins with a roast plan.

Every batch we roast this week has a destination—whether it's heading to a local café, a family's kitchen, or someone discovering Baker Mountain for the first time.

There's something satisfying about knowing that each roast isn't just another batch of coffee. It's part of someone's morning routine, weekend tradition, or conversation around a fire.

That's a responsibility we never take lightly.

Preparing with Purpose

At Baker Mountain Roastery, our week doesn't begin by turning on the roaster.

It begins by looking back.

We take time to review the previous week—what went well, what challenged us, and where we can continue to grow. Every lesson helps us become a better roastery and better stewards of the trust you've placed in us.

As Baker Mountain continues to grow, we're embracing a new direction. Growth brings exciting opportunities, but it also brings greater responsibility. Our promise is that no matter how much we grow, our relationships will always remain personal.

Every roast is approached with the same mindset: Would we be proud to serve this to our own family and friends?Whether we're roasting an 8-ounce bag for someone's quiet morning at home or a 30-pound order for one of our wholesale partners, our goal is the same—to create coffee you'll look forward to brewing, enjoy sharing around the table, and come back for again and again.

Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of your mornings. We don't take that privilege for granted.

A great day to reflect.

A lot of people picture coffee roasting as the exciting part of what we do. Some have even asked to come see the operations. As a small business, there just isn’t much to physically see, but we’re growing so maybe someday.

The real work to a great cup of coffee starts long before the roaster is turned on.

It starts with searching for the right farms, choosing coffees that fit our standards, planning ahead for the next harvest, and making sure every bag we roast is one we'd proudly serve ourselves.

The roasting gets the attention.

The preparation is what makes it consistent.

That's the real work we're doing this past week at Baker Mountain Roastery. The roasting is just what we enjoy to do for you.

Yesterday was one of those days that reminds us why we do this.

We welcomed a new wholesale partner, and we also learned that customers have been recommending Baker Mountain coffee to friends and family. There's no better compliment than knowing someone enjoyed a cup enough to tell someone else about it.

To everyone who has shared our coffee, encouraged a friend to try us, or supported a local business that serves Baker Mountain - thank you.

Your support means more than you know, and we're looking forward to another week of roasting great coffee for this community.

One of the things I enjoy most about roasting coffee is that every harvest brings something new to discover.

As one coffee reaches the end of its season, we're already searching for the next exceptional lot to bring to Baker Mountain. It takes time to find coffees that meet our standards, but that's part of the craft.

We believe every coffee we offer should earn its place on our shelves - not because it's available, but because it's worth sharing.

Thank you for supporting a small roastery that cares as much about choosing great coffee as roasting it.

Since 2023, one thing I've learned is that consistency isn't exciting — until you're the customer.

Our goal isn't to roast one amazing batch.

It's to make sure the bag you buy this month is just as enjoyable as the one you bought last month.

That's the standard we hold ourselves to every day.
