Today we wrapped up our last summer cooking class with campers from the East Rowan YMCA.

The "Farm to Table: Pizza Making Class" was once again a big hit. We were able to use lots of fresh vegetables from local farms such as Wallace Farms and Correll Farms, for toppings and pizza sauce.

We're grateful for the partnership with all camps and organizations we've worked with this summer.

Thank you Bright Minds Academy Summer Camp for spending the day at Fleming Street for the "Farm to Table: Pizza Making Class."

This group of elementary and middle school students learned how to make pizza dough and Ranch dressing from scratch. Each scholar customized their pizza and had a delicious lunch of pizza and salad.

Many thanks to the Director and Counselor for their assistance and a job well done to all of the young people!

We're looking forward to day 2 of cooking classes and working with more young people tomorrow.

We’re looking for an organized program-builder and community connector to lead our education programs — including After School Strings, After Work Strings, Youth Orchestra, Young People’s Concerts, and SSO Summer Camp — and to deepen our partnerships with schools, families, and community organizations across Rowan County.

Part-time, approx. 9 hours/week (about 470 hours per season)

Hourly W-2 position at $18.00/hour

Works closely with the Executive Director and Music Director.

Focus on education programs, community events, access, and audience development

Ideal for someone with experience in education, community engagement, program coordination, or nonprofit administration, and a passion for classical music’s role in our community.
