Carl G. Fisher Memorial Project Public Open House Announced

SPEEDWAY, Ind. – April 22, 2026 - The Speedway Redevelopment Commission (SRC), in partnership with Linde Advanced Material Technology (Linde), is proud to announce the next phase of the Carl G. Fisher Memorial Project with a community open house inviting public input on a new memorial space honoring one of Speedway’s influential founders.

The Carl G. Fisher Memorial Project celebrates the life and lasting legacy of Carl G. Fisher, visionary entrepreneur and co-founder of both the Town of Speedway and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. As part of the upcoming Speedway Centennial, the memorial is envisioned as a meaningful and lasting tribute to Fisher and the founders whose leadership and innovation shaped the community.

The partnership between the SRC and Linde reflects a shared commitment to honoring Speedway’s history while investing in thoughtful placemaking for future generations. Together, SRC and Linde are working to create a memorial that reflects both historical significance and the pride of today’s Speedway community.

COMMUNITY OPEN HOUSE DETAILS
Residents, stakeholders, and members of the public are encouraged to attend an open house to learn more about the proposed memorial and to share feedback on its design and purpose.
