We are accepting applications for a Bar Manager to lead daily bar operations, elevate guest experience, and drive profitable growth. You’ll oversee staff, inventory, compliance, and service standards while building a strong, positive team culture.
Key responsibilities:
• Build weekly shift schedules that balance labor targets with business needs.
• Train, coach, and performance-manage bartenders, servers, and support staff.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings; ensure opening/closing checklists are executed.
• Ordering, receiving, transfers, and weekly counts of beer and food inventory.
• Enforce ID verification, over-service prevention, and incident documentation.
• Maintain sanitation, OSHA, and fire safety standards; manage TABC compliance.
• Deliver consistent, memorable hospitality; manage VIP and events.
• Partner with owner and advertising to market promotions.
• Use Toast POS for menu programming, discounts, voids, cash handling, comps, and sales reporting.
• Reconcile nightly cash, tips, and deposits; investigate variances.
• Maintain vendor relationships and invoice accuracy.
Required qualifications:
• 2+ years in a bar/restaurant management role, or 3–5 years as a lead bartender with supervisory duties.
• Proven experience with Toast POS (menu programming, modifiers, discount logic, reporting, inventory).
• Scheduling experience using labor targets and forecasted demand.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution.
Excellent guest service, communication, and floor presence.
• Data-driven decision-making, organizational rigor: checklists, SOPs, and follow-through on deadlines.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays; lift/move up to 40 lbs; stand for long periods.
• Valid driver’s license for occasional off-site pickups of supplies.
Tennessee alcohol service requirements:
• TABC Server Permit (commonly called “Server Card”): Required for anyone serving alcohol; managers working on the floor should hold an active permit issued by the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage • Commission following completion of an approved responsible alcohol service course (valid for five years).
• On-Premise Consumption License compliance: Manager must adhere to TABC rules for age verification, refusal of service, incident documentation, storage, and recordkeeping at the licensed premises.
Beer Board/local ordinances: Comply with any city/county beer permit rules (training, signage, hours, server age).
Recommended/Preferred: TABC Manager-specific or advanced responsible service training; current Food Safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) for sanitation oversight.
