A dear friend just brought this to my attention,. We had no idea we had been included in Ripley's Believe It or Not!, and are indeed, both very humored and honored.🥰
We are looking forward to seeing you all in May. We are planning to open Mother’s Day for the 2026, and our 15th season. 🎉🙏🏻

So many people ask, “What do the goats do in winter?”
Well, friends… I proudly present: Goats in Coats. 🥰
Same goats, same chaos, brand-new winter fashion line. And with scenery this beautiful — even if a few shots are adorably redundant — how could I possibly leave any out?
I still need to make a few adjustments to the fronts (heavy-duty canvas and a sewing machine are in my future!), but with just a little tweaking, this is going to be their coziest winter yet. ❤️

Happy Thanksgiving all! I just took these a few minutes ago. The buck was standing surveying the ocean next to the Acadia National Park sign out on the Seawall. Beautiful.❤️

Here’s a sneak peek of the Triumph Motorcycle commercial filmed today right here on Seawall Road. It’s pretty special seeing this stretch of Mount Desert Island in the spotlight, (you definitely want the volume on for this one).

For those of us who live and work here—and for everyone “from away” who falls in love with it—Seawall holds a piece of our hearts. A few years back, hurricanes tore this road apart, but local contractors came together, rolled up their sleeves, and put it back better and stronger. Thanks to their grit and heart, it’s not just safe again—it’s iconic enough to star in a commercial.

Gratitude, pride, and a little goosebump moment for our hometown heroes.

I’d like to thank The Quietside Journal for its coverage of recent Planning Board deliberations regarding the Worcester subdivision proposal next to the landfill.

For me, this has never been about personalities or politics. It’s about ensuring that the process is fair, transparent, and protective of our town’s future. When residents raise concerns about water quality, soil safety, or long-term environmental impact, those concerns deserve to be treated with respect, not brushed aside as “emotional.”

Southwest Harbor’s Planning Board exists to safeguard the welfare of the town, present and future. That means following the rules to the letter, listening to residents, and remembering that development should never come at the expense of health and safety.

I stand by my position: before any project moves forward on or near an uncontrolled landfill site, we must have complete and certified testing, conducted at the highest standard, and a clear plan for remediation if contaminants are found. This isn’t obstruction — it’s common sense.

I am proud to serve alongside my fellow board members, and I welcome civil discussion from all corners of our community. At the end of the day, my goal is simple: to put the well-being of Southwest Harbor first.

Hello! over the course of the summer many of you have reached out asking about the big white duck often seen paddling around the pond at Seawall — and I’m finally here to officially introduce him!
Meet Peter, (Petey), — the big, beautiful white Pekin duck. He lives here with his two best buddies, Paul (our tall black Indian Runner) and Flynn (the sweet gray Indian Runner). They moved in with me — and, of course, the goats — a few months ago.
It’s been a whirlwind of a summer, so I hadn’t gotten around to making their formal introduction, but here they are in all their glory!
They’ve even befriended some of the wild ducks who stop by for dinner from time to time — though those visitors still head home at the end of the night.
So now you know: Peter and his pals are very much part of our little family here, and they have a happy, spoiled-rotten home with us.
If you’re a guest of the motel or dining at Charlotte’s Legendary Lobster Pound, (or just driving past), you will most definitely have an opportunity to meet or see them. 🥰
