Meet our next Embers’ team member, none other than the girl behind our social media!
Hi there! I’m stepping out from behind the screen just for a second so you can meet me. My name is Bethany, and it’s been so great interacting with all of you online so far. I figured it’s only fair that you guys learn a little bit about me.
As far as Downriver roots, I’ve lived here most of my life. I moved from Brownstown to Taylor to Riverview and now have settled in Woodhaven. So I like to think I know this community pretty well. I did live in Chicago for a time though, and that’s where I really fell in love with independent coffee shops. In Downriver, when it came to needing a place to study, you had chain coffee shops or the library. In Chicago, it seemed as though there was a unique coffee shop on every corner.
My go-to coffee order usually is a dirty chai or a lavender latte. I’m a floral kinda gal. And if I could write a book, I think it would have something to do with travel tips and tricks.
I’m so excited about Embers being a place for all the wanderers like me looking for a place to relax, drink something yummy and lean into the community atmosphere. I used to say I would never move back to Downriver, but I know now that our community is special, and the only way we can change others’ perceptions is by putting in the work. I can’t wait to meet y’all soon and enjoy our space together!
