I used to make this joke that I have “3 college degrees” and I pour coffee for a living. Obviously, I said this lightheartedly as I know the efforts and s**t storms I’ve endured for almost 4 years has been anything short of a testament to my perseverance. But sometimes, some days, the little thoughts would creep in and the glimmers representing my long lost (other) passion would settle within me like the tiniest flame.
For those who know me, know that when I went to school I pursued a bachelor’s degree in Justice & Law Administration at WCSU and immediately went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Years later due to working at Post U I completed a Master’s in Higher Education as well in order to potentially make myself more valuable in the academia arena.
And while I was eternally grateful for the path life took me on, you could understand why the thought of arguing whether or not I wanted to cream cheese routinely for grown adults made me want to bash my skull into a wall.
Regardless, after working jobs initially “to keep the lights on” to excelling within a multi million dollar corporation, and leaving that behind to focus solely on single motherhood and my small business- I have now found myself able to pursue a passion that I’ve fueled since 2022 while also getting a second chance at one that I’ve worked immensely hard at and has always been within me.
