The end after a decade... We want to thank everyone for supporting us within these last 10 years. We are closing soon and are selling our business. Since a lot of our family and friends are asking why we are selling our Fil-Am 2 business at South City, we want to move forward with this new chapter in our lives.
A little background, our head chef Rolando (our dad) has been cooking at Fil-Am Daly City from 2004 until 2014. He was taught by our great Lolo Jose on his take on Filipino food. His Uncle Ernesto passed down Fil-am Daly City to their family in 2004 and taught our dad and our Uncle Richard (his brother) the famous bbq recipe.
Our dad is the heart and soul of Fil-Am’s food for years. He opened Fil-Am 2 in South City in 2014. He wanted to expand his family’s business down the peninsula to introduce authentic Filipino foods to different communities.
The beauty about opening this restaurant was how people got to experience our take on these recipes that our ancestors passed down to us for generations.
He has cooked delicious food for the South City community everyday from opening to closing, for the last 10 years. Now 2024, here we are, since we finished college, he wants to take a break to focus on his overall well being and spend more quality time with our family.
Our Lola is getting older and prefers my dad to come back and help her❤️. He will reunite again soon with his mom and siblings our Auntie Irene, Auntie Roselle, and Uncle Richard at Fil-Am Daly City.
Thank you again for giving us the safe space to represent Filipino food all these years in South San Francisco.
We love you all so much.
