Ten years ago today, we had our grand opening! It didn’t go smoothly. We opened about 15 mins late, didn’t properly scale our chocolate chip cookies which resulted in puddles of butter and flour, and were supposed to have a cake cutting ceremony with a nicely decorated cake, instead we had a bare cake with no decorations or writing with a bunch of our family, friends, and elected officials coming to celebrate.
We were called crazy for leaving our jobs. After all we had a 4, 7, and 8 year old at home. We were told how it’s scary to open a business and it’s too risky. Yes it’s true that it’s scary and risky, but as the old saying goes-
a smooth sea never made a skilled sailor…
We’ve had our ups and downs, challenges and successes. Blood, sweat, and tears, some all at the same time. Many early mornings and late nights.
In the last 10 years, We’ve been lucky enough to watch many couples celebrate their engagement, wedding, baby shower, and their children’s birthdays each year. We’ve celebrated our customers accomplishments such as beating cancer and mourned the loss of far too many great people.
We couldn’t have done any of this without the support of our friends and family and especially without the support of our community. Something that may seem small such as a social media like or share helps out and we appreciate it. We said it 10 years ago, we still feel it today- Lockports best days are ahead of us as long as we all believe in it and work towards it.. together!
We also want to thank our children. Your support and belief has inspired mom and I. We’re so proud and thankful of you.
I can’t forget to thank our team. If you have worked with us in the past or currently work with us, I don’t know how you put up with us. :) Thank you. We can’t do it without you.
Running a bakery for 10 years isn’t easy. But we’ve been lucky enough to have a lot of support along the way. Thank you. Here’s to many more years!
