Cheers to 9 wonderful years at the Historic Hotel Nichols! 🥂

Nine years ago, our family took a chance on the most excellent historic hotel right in the heart of Downtown South Haven where we love to live! Looking back today, we are filled with so much gratitude for every single minute that has passed since.

Our family’s greatest hope has always been that guests and locals alike enjoy their time with us as much as we enjoy hosting them. We absolutely love seeing familiar faces return year after year, welcoming those first-timers, hearing all your unique stories, and sharing our beautiful beach town with all of you.

To our guests: Thank you for taking a chance on us!

To our incredible team: None of our success would be possible without you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your hard work to keep us going and ensuring our visitors always have the absolute best experience.

Fall is settling in along Lake Michigan, and there’s plenty happening around South Haven this week. Saturday brings Cranberry Harvest Day at DeGrandchamp's Blueberry Farm, the Blue Coast Artists Fall Tour, the South Haven Farm Market, and Capes & Crowns Day at Bumbleberry Acres. You’ll also find live music, art programs, North Beach yoga, line dancing and other events throughout the week.

There’s plenty happening in South Haven this week, September 21–27!

The South Haven Trail Town Challenge is back, just in time to see the first shades of fall unfold. Catch live music around town, explore new exhibitions at the South Haven Center for the Arts, enjoy lakeside yoga, visit the Farm Market, or join the fun at Quack Attack Jeep Day at Bumbleberry Acres!

The week also includes maritime history, creative classes, and a powerful live performance honoring Harriet Tubman.

Some great music for a great cause at The Groovin' Grove today!

LOCATION CHANGE!

Raindrops kept falling on our heads, so we’ve moved the event to The Groovin’ Grove! From 12p to 3p today.

Same great music, just a new location. Come groove with us at 72040 M-43, South Haven, MI.

And most importantly, we’re still raising money for Alzheimer’s. Come enjoy the music, have a drink, grab some food, and help us support a great cause!

Truly a beautiful day for the first night of Foundry Hall's Jazz Festival!

It’s going to be a beautiful day for our first night of the South Haven Jazz Festival! Join us downtown at 6pm for our first musical offering, vocal duo Daunt&King! At 7pm the Rufus Ferguson Quartet featuring Kenny Watson will create some Brazilian Jazz magic for us. All free, bring a lawn chair, enjoy drinks in the social district and food from Tello Italian Bistro, Kitchen 527 or some picnic fare for the park from Haven Market!

South Beach was named Best Beach in Michigan in the 2026 USA TODAY 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards, and we’re celebrating with Best Beach Night!

Come enjoy free hot dogs & beach balls (while supplies last), a community tug-of-war, our community beach photo, and more.

💦 And then there’s the DUNK TANK.

Some familiar South Haven faces have volunteered to take the plunge for beach safety! Labor Day weekend begins with fresh finds at the South Haven Farm Market, beach yoga along the Lake Michigan shoreline and live music across town! The centerpiece arrives beneath the trees of Stanley Johnston Park, where the South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce presents the 50th Annual All Crafts Fair with more than 160 artisans, Michigan-made goods and mouthwatering food vendors.
