♿️🚧 More exciting improvements happening at The Haven Play Cafe 🚧♿️

It may not be the most glamorous part of opening a play cafe, but these are the kinds of improvements that mean SO much to us!

🚗 A brand new speed bump behind The Haven!

We’ve had concerns about vehicles using the drive behind our building as a shortcut and traveling through a little too quickly. With little ones and families coming and going, safety is incredibly important to us. We’re so thankful to have a new speed bump in to help slow down traffic and make the area around The Haven safer for everyone.

♿️ AND we now have TWO brand new accessible parking spaces right in front of our cafe!

Creating a space that is welcoming and accessible for children and families of all abilities has been important to us from the very beginning. Having accessible parking right outside our doors is another step toward making The Haven a place where everyone can Gather. Play. Connect. 💙💜💚

Some donations just hit a little differently. 🥹💞

The Lane Family donated a bunch of items to The Haven Play Cafe , and I’m feeling incredibly grateful.

There’s something so special about having the people who know you personally believe in the dream you’ve been working so hard to build. They’ve heard about the late nights, the never-ending projects, the exciting moments, the stressful moments, and everything in between and then they show up and say, “I want to help.” 🥹🫶🏼

Every single item donated is one less thing we have to purchase and one more piece of The Haven coming together before we open our doors. And when you’re building a small business from the ground up, that means more than people probably realize.

I’m so thankful for this friendship, for the support, and for the generosity shown to our family and this crazy dream of ours. 💙💜💚

Thank you for believing in The Haven and, even more, for believing in us.

We truly have some of the best people in our corner.
Gather. Play. Connect.

Another incredibly generous donation for The Haven Play Cafe 💙💜💚

We continue to be amazed by the people who are stepping up to help us bring The Haven Play Cafe to life. 🥹

Margie Guzmán generously donated foam flooring for our infant play area, helping us create a softer, safer, and more comfortable space for our tiniest Haven guests to explore, move, play, and grow. 👶🏼

When you’re opening a small business, there are SO many little things that quickly add up and donations like this truly make a difference. Every item donated allows us to put more back into creating a beautiful, welcoming space for the children and families in our community.

We are getting closer and closer to opening our doors, and it is so special knowing that pieces of The Haven have been contributed by the very community we created it for. 💞

☀️OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW!☀️

Talk about a transformation! 😍 I can’t wait to show you a video of the finished product, this does NOT do it justice!

We said goodbye to the old garage door and welcomed a beautiful new one with WINDOWS!🪟😍

The natural light pouring into our event center has completely transformed the space, making it feel so much brighter, warmer, and more inviting!

We cannot wait to see this space filled with birthday celebrations, special events, laughter, and little ones making memories!

What are YOU doing on your Saturday night?!

Normally, our weekends are filled with family movie nights, popcorn, special treats, and time together. 🍿🎬💙💜💚

One thing our oldest always says is, “I really like it when we are all together as a family.” And goodness, that gets me every time. 🥹🫶🏼

For the past 4.5 months, Kyle has been working incredibly long days and late nights trying to get The Haven Play Cafe ready to open. He has poured so much of himself into this dream, and while we are beyond grateful for everything he is doing, it has meant missing out on some of those special family moments we love so much.

So tonight, instead of our usual movie night at home, we are ALL spending our Saturday night at The Haven! 🥰

The kids are playing, helping clean up and we are all doing our part to help Dad get this place one step closer to opening!

It might not be our typical Saturday night, but we are together, and that's what matters most. 🥰 Someday, when we look back on this journey, I hope our kids remember more than just the long nights and hard work. I hope they remember the nights we spent together building something special, the laughter, the memories, and the excitement of watching our family's dream come to life. And if not, I’ll have photos and video for proof! 🤣

Tonight, we aren't just building The Haven, we are making memories as a family and I wouldn't trade that for anything. 💙💜💚

☔️ 💙💜💚Days like today are EXACTLY why we’re building The Haven Play Cafe ☔️💙💜💚

It’s rainy, gloomy, and one of those days where the kids have SO much energy and you’re wondering… what are we going to do today?!…

Soon, the answer can be The Haven Play Cafe! 🫶🏼🥹
I can already picture The Haven FULL of little ones playing on a rainy day like today and that makes me even more excited to get these doors open! ☕️🛝☔️

And speaking of filling The Haven…we’ve received more items from our Amazon Wish List! A BIG Thank You to: my Aunt Jay & Uncle George, our neighbors Mike & Tina Dense, our friends Mom, Lisa Goril who is also a wonderful PTO Grandma and my friend, Brandi Allred!

We have been absolutely blown away by the gifts that have already shown up at our door. Every package feels like another little piece of The Haven coming together, and knowing that so many of you want to be part of bringing this space to our community means more than we can say. 🫶🏼🥹

Thank you for believing in this dream, supporting our family, and helping us create a place for our community to Gather. Play. Connect. 💙💜💚

🎁 Our Amazon Wish List is linked below in the comments!

We seriously cannot wait for the day when rainy days mean: “Let’s go to The Haven!” ☔️☕️🛝💞

Another little piece of The Haven Play Cafe is coming together!

The butcher block countertops between our cafe seating area and the play area have officially been oiled and have their first coat of polyurethane on them!

I am OBSESSED with how great these have turned out. 😍

There’s just something so satisfying about watching all of these pieces we’ve worked on ourselves go from an idea…to raw materials…to actually becoming part of The Haven. 🥹

These countertops are going to help create that perfect transition between the cafe and play space where caregivers can sit, sip their beverage, connect, and still be close to all the action. ☕️🛝

One more project getting checked off the list! ✔️
We’re getting closer and closer, South Haven! 💙💜💚
