Maude is Frances Granger, mother of your cook, Charlie Granger. She was born 25 years after the formation of the village of South Glens Falls. While working at Patrick's Vending, Frances received her nickname of Maude after the popular television character played by Bea Arthur. Frances's life was similar to the character Maude, so the name stuck. Frances married Rodger Granger on September 3, 1942 and had ten children, five girls and five boys. Charlie is the youngest of the ten. Her busy life revolved around the kitchen. If she wasn't cooking, she was sitting in the kitchen, enjoying a beer and playing five card stud with her friends and family. France's kitchen was a place where you could always get something good to eat or simply relax and visit and that's what we offer here. Each of the breakfast selections are named after the Granger children. Like each of the children, they're all different. Lunch suggestions are named for people Maude knew and would have liked to honor. All soups are homemade and all meats are cooked on premises. Remember, Maude's Kitchen is "Where Happiness is Homemade"
