Are you an experienced caterer looking for more than just a job? Join a team where your culinary skills can help change lives!

Pollen8 is seeking a creative, dependable, and mission-driven Chef to prepare and produce food for catered events through Café Appalachia Catering. This position will work primarily from our commissary kitchen in South Charleston while also supporting events at our cafés and customer venues.

The Caterer will:

🍽️ Prepare, produce, and pack food for catered events
🥕 Create menus featuring garden-grown produce and house-made products
📋 Manage prep lists, portions, food costs, and production timelines
🚚 Assist with event setup, service, and breakdown
👩‍🍳 Help train women in our Recovery Corps program in food preparation, food safety, and event planning
💚 Create a supportive culture where team members can learn, heal, and grow

We’re looking for someone who has:

✅ Basic culinary knowledge and catering experience for 100+ guests
✅ Strong organization, communication, and customer-service skills
✅ Knowledge of food costs, budgets, ordering, and P&L analysis
✅ Creativity with menus, presentation, and food displays
✅ A valid driver’s license and the ability to lift 25+ pounds
✅ A current Kanawha County Management Food Handler Card—or the ability to obtain and maintain one
✅ Knowledge, understanding, and empathy regarding Substance Use Disorder
✅ A genuine desire to make a difference

Farm-to-table experience is a plus!

It’s been a few years since we’ve made any major changes to our menu, and we’ve been working hard to make sure the next ones are worth the wait!

Over the years, we’ve listened to YOU. We’ve learned what you love, what you want more of, and which favorites you wish you could enjoy all year long. 🥗🥪☕️

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll begin rolling out a new and improved menu that we think is going to have something for everyone — including some favorites sticking around year-round! 🙌

This cactus bloomed today, and it reminded us so much of recovery. 🌵

Sometimes the greatest growth happens quietly. Through the hard seasons, the storms, and the moments when we don’t see change happening… something beautiful is still being created.

At Café Appalachia, we get to witness those blooms every day. Women in recovery who have walked through difficult seasons are finding hope, purpose, and a new life.
