Hats Off at the Hearth 🎩☘️
This month, we’re raising a glass to Pam — who also just celebrated 5 years at Fiddler’s Hearth!
Pam joined us five years ago as we were coming out of the pandemic and working to get our dining room back up and running. She quickly became a favorite with guests and coworkers alike — reliable, hardworking, and with a laugh you can hear throughout the pub. Today, she’s one of our lead servers and a go-to for newer staff learning the ropes.
We’re incredibly lucky she found her way to the Hearth. Cheers to five years, Pam! Sláinte!
We asked Pam a few questions about her time at Fid’s:
Favorite Fid’s memory?
“My first St. Patrick’s Day! I was totally unprepared for what was to come. Before the doors opened, we were offered a shot of Irish wh***ey — a first for me — and then opened the doors to a huge crowd, many of them in costume. From the blessing of the bar to the bagpipes, it was hours of fun, hard work and lots of laughs. What a day.”
Favorite drink at Fid’s?
“I went 30 years believing I didn’t really like b**r and mostly drank w**e. Then Terry introduced me to Ch*****ne Velvet and I fell in love!”
What do you love about the Fid’s family?
“You quickly develop a camaraderie with your coworkers when you make it through a really busy shift together. I also love the loyalty of our customers. Some only make it to town once a year and Fid’s is somewhere they have to visit. I’ve even waited on people who met after being seated together at a common table, became great friends, and now meet up every year to share a pint at Fid’s.”
If you could share a pint with anyone?
“My dad, George McCann. He was proud of his Irish roots and would so love the atmosphere and traditions at Fid’s.”
And if Pam had a drink named after her?
The Pamdemonium. Obviously.
