Now open near the East Bank and conveniently located in the old General Store, the General Deli & Cafe is a comfy and casual venue serving up your basic favorites with a local flare. Our simple but carefully crafted menu offers a cornucopia of delicious deli specialities including house-made soups, locally-sourced breads and pastries, salads, and sandwiches. Additionally we offer a variety of custom beverages including tea, juices, and coffee, featuring South Bend roasted Zen Café. Whether you are on-the-go or just need a place to sit down and relax, The General Deli & Cafe offers a laid back and inviting atmosphere to enjoy a freshly brewed espresso, cappuccino or a pastrami on rye. Our Bahn Mi sandwich is oozing with flavor, packed with savory sriracha hoisin mayo, our delicious house smoked pork, spicy jalapeños paired against cool and crisp cucumber, and crunchy, tangy pickled veggies, this sandwich is sure to be your new fav here at the cafe!

SEPTEMBER COFFEE & SANDWICH SPECIALS ARE HERE!

The end of summer feels imminent and with fall rapidly approaching we wanted to make a drink that could bridge the gap between both seasons. Let us introduce you to the magical "4th Lvl. Fireball", a delightfully fiery chipotle marshmallow mocha, that is perfect iced or hot. So, whether you are looking for a refreshing cold drink for a hot summer day (with just a liiiitttle kick to keep you on your toes), or a drink to help warm you up as the days get colder, "4th Lvl. Fireball" is ready for you!

If you have been to the cafe during the summer and winter breaks over the past 4 years, then you have probably seen Olivia working behind the bar. We have been lucky enough to have her as part of our team in between semesters and are sad to say that this is her final week with us! While it sucks to say goodbye, we are so grateful for the time we have had getting to know her and are excited to see what Olivia does next as she continues her education in healthcare!
