Life is what it is. We should be thankful

Good morning ranchers. Papa here. Day 6 of our inspiration

We always try to educate you guys when a situation comes up here. In 7 years of rescue this has never happened until recently.

Sara and I, we are the type of people that forgive and let go of most things that take place with people.

There is a reason non profits have board members and advisors. Trusted individuals that will do the right thing for our program. That will uphold the law. That will not allow others to take advantage of us.

People in the past have bounced checks to us, but they've made good on their promise when notified.

Most people who stop payment on a check are intentionally committing an act of fraud. They wrote a check that's going to bounce or they wrote it for attention.

So this is our recent experience. What happens when someone writes a check to a business or charitable organization and then puts a stop payment on it?

Stop Payment Law and Legal Definition. Stop payment is an order issued to a bank by an account owner not to pay a check written on their account. ... Stopping payment on a check in order to avoid payment of a legitimate debt may be a criminal act of fraud, governed by state fraud laws.

Donations are voluntary, so when a person writes a check for a donation, It's an act of kindness and generosity. If they change their mind later, their actions become a fraudulent act.

What do I say to people that make donations to organizations like ours, Thank you for your donation.

What do you say to someone that causes you bank fees and embarrassment with your financial institution? Someone that's dishonest and lied to put a stop payment on a donation?

Sadly, there are a lot of people that are deceptive with their false acts of kindness. They are thanked and praised on pages like ours for their donations. Thousands of people they don't know thanking them for helping the organization they love. Possibly sending business their way if they have a business or service to offer.

People use organizations like ours to gain business and profit from. Sad but true. They steal from others just like us. But, we advertised for them not knowing, so who do you think will also be blamed when they get ripped off?

It's challenging to move past such a violation of trust. To forgive the deception. Most of all to trust in others to do good.

Should we stop accepting checks? How sad that one person could hurt so many with one act of deception.

In life, you will come in contact with someone that will fool you. That you'll trust and put your faith in their words. Some will be angry and want revenge. Someone like me will be disappointed and feel sorry for them while wishing them the best that life has to offer them.

What you really need to know about organizations like ours. Not everyone will be so forgiving. That's why organizations like ours have board members that are professionals outside the nonprofit. Attorneys, accountants and retired career members of our community.

There's a reason we have fraud laws. We are thankful for our board members for making sure our forgiveness is not being taken advantage of.

What's your inspiration in the mix of all this? Don't judge and be suspicious of everyone's act of kindness because of one deceptive person. Don't let those people change who you are in this world.

Dew drops.
Lavender dew drops, hanging precariously on blades of grass; yet in this moment - even jewels would be envious!

My thought on artwork-it should be hung, enjoyed and we all have different tastes. So I can share some of my "Mom" starting tomorrow and if you like a piece let me know- Many Thanks-Ms.P

Ahhhh!! I know you all believe that this is Sunday night, however his is my Friday and i wanted to share some experiences that we have had in the last couple of days. We had the honor to make food for cancer survivors at Portsmouth Regional Hospital- Greg it was an honor to share with you- Ms. Pamona's passion for food. I look forward to participating next year.

I looked up yesterday at the end of The Garden Walk and to my astonishment was face to face with our wonderful Mayor- Mayor Matt Spencer. Didn't recognize him in jeans, baseball cap & t shirt (he usually dons a suit & tie), we chatted on for quite awhile and we talked about dinner, he was taking his Mom to Newicks. So a couple of hours later, to our delight- Matt brought not just his lovely Mom, but a women that I have admired from afar (Lorene) & her husband. If you are not very familiar with us here at Ms.Pamona's we believe that you grace our door for a reason and it soon becomes apparent.
If you have not had the pleasure of meeting our Mayor-take the time to seek him out and talk with him-he is the new voice of Somersworth, he is all of the new young families, your children, he is the voice of the seniors, he IS THE VOICE to be reckoned with in these difficult times, he will carry your message because he CARES, trust me....
Mayor Spencer has an OPEN invitation to hold any meetings here at Ms.Pamona's or OPEN forums so that you can meet this engaging man who wants to be the change that we need.
And today we got a phone call from a complete stranger from The Lakes Region(they had read about us on YELP), Liza and Jay joined us for breakfast & Jay said that I made him a Mom's breakfast-he loved it and he hugged me like we had known each other forever, turns out the connection here was Clyde Coolidge...I walk away from a long week with a new co-worker Ms.Vanessa P(many thanks), time well spent with a dear friend (Jay)and know how thankful & fortunate I am in this life. So as I start my weekend- I wish you all well and thank you for making us a part of your day, life, happiness or just that need to share.
p.s. You are not an afterthought Ms.Gagne, you spread such joy & happiness & we look forward to seeing more of you & Steph-you beautify our little place in Somersworth...
With The Best to you all- Ms.P
