🍂☔ WELL… MOTHER NATURE HAD OTHER PLANS! ☔
Unfortunately, today’s Kittanning Fall Festival has been canceled due to the rain, bringing our weekend to an earlier end than we’d hoped.
But what a wonderful couple of days! Our first visit to Kittanning was fantastic, and we’re so grateful to everyone who stopped by, tried our homemade ice cream and Dirty Sofie’s, and made us feel so welcome!
And now comes the question I’ve been trying to avoid…
Is this officially a wrap for Sofie Rose Frosty Freeze’s 2026 season? 🍦
Well… I’m not quite ready to say that! 😉
The temperatures are dropping, the days are getting shorter, and realistically, our regular days on the road are probably coming to an end.
But I’m having a hard time letting go of this season.
And honestly, it’s about so much more than ice cream.
It’s about the incredible community that has grown around this little business. The familiar faces, the conversations at the trailer window, the friendships, and all of you who have supported us, encouraged us, and helped make Sofie Rose Frosty Freeze what it is today.
I genuinely look forward to seeing you, and I’m just not quite ready to give that up for the year. You’ve made this little business something truly special, and that means more to me than you probably realize.
So… naturally, I’ve got a few ideas swirling around in my head!
I’ve been thinking about ways we might extend our season a little longer, possibly even into early December, just with a slightly different twist!
☕ Fresh espresso, specialty coffees, and seasonal lattes.
🍨 Affogatos made with our rich, homemade ice cream and freshly brewed espresso.
🥤 Dirty Sofie’s! Our signature dirty soda floats, along with our popular energy floats. These were a HUGE hit this weekend!
🍦 And of course, our usual selection of seven homemade ice cream flavors! Because who says ice cream is only for warm weather?
I’m tossing around the idea of an occasional weekend morning or early-afternoon pop-up right here in Somerset, possibly at our familiar Growmark location.
And there’s one more idea I’ve been playing around with…
🎂🎄 HOMEMADE ICE CREAM CAKES FOR THE HOLIDAYS!
I’m considering offering ice cream cakes for your holiday gatherings, possibly taking orders through the middle of December. It’s something I’ve been wanting to explore, and I’m curious whether there’s enough interest to make it happen!
🍦 AND LET’S NOT FORGET ABOUT PINTS!
Finding a way to extend our season would also give everyone a little more time to stock their freezers with their favorite homemade ice cream! I’ll be putting together a list of available pint flavors to share soon.
Now, before anyone gets too excited, these are all just ideas at the moment! The weather over the next couple of weekends isn’t looking particularly promising, and I still have some things to figure out.
No dates, no promises… just a few possibilities I’m exploring!

Regardless of what happens, I can’t thank you enough for the incredible season you’ve given us. Whether you’ve stopped by once, visited us every week, or followed us from town to town, you’ve helped build something I’m incredibly proud of.
The trailer may be winding down, but I’m just not quite ready to say goodbye to this wonderful little community we’ve built.
So stay tuned… we’ll see what Mother Nature and a few ideas have in store!
