Tomorrow is MARKET DAY at Washburn Trust and it’s happening RAIN OR SHINE!

And you know me… a little rain isn’t stopping Songbird. I’ll be there with bells on and a table packed with flavor.

Tomorrow’s bread lineup:

There’s a story behind the name Songbird, and this song is part of it.

Songbird got its name from a trio of inspirations that have stayed close to my heart over the years, and this is one of them.

Ryan Montbleau has been one of my favorite artists for nearly 20 years. His music has been part of so many seasons of my life, and somehow, certain songs just become woven into your story.

This one is woven into mine and into the story of Songbird.

Funny how a name can hold so much more than people realize. 💙

TOMORROW AT WASHBURN TRUST FARMERS MARKET

Songbird is coming to the table LOADED tomorrow with the classics, the savory heavy hitters, something brand new, and a few sweets because apparently bread alone isn’t enough.

CLASSIC SOURDOUGH $13/$15 WHOLE & SLICED
Crusty, chewy, beautifully fermented and ready for everything from sandwiches to a thick swipe of good butter.

HERB, GARLIC & OLIVE OIL $15
Savory, fragrant and dangerously easy to tear into before you even make it home.

SAGE, LEMON & PARMESAN $16
Bright lemon, earthy sage and salty Parmesan baked into a seriously beautiful loaf.

CHILI ONION CRUNCH, GREEN ONION & CHEDDAR $18
Big flavor. A little heat. Lots of savory goodness. This one does NOT play quietly.

NEW TO THE TABLE RAISIN, DATE & PECAN SPELT $18
Sweet raisins, rich dates and crunchy pecans tucked into a beautiful spelt-based sourdough. Rustic, slightly nutty and just sweet enough. I have a feeling this one is going to find some fans FAST.

After a long day and an absolutely wonderful afternoon at the Washburn Trust Farmers Market, I came home tired, hungry, and carrying the best kind of grocery bag…one filled by the people I spent the afternoon alongside. ❤️

So dinner became a little market-to-table magic.

Songbird Pumpernickel piled high with shaved pastrami, mustard from Foods, dark lager pickles from , gorgeous purple-stem radish microgreens from ’s Local, and these ridiculously adorable little cucamelons from Farm.

Nothing fancy. Nothing complicated. Just really damn good food made even better because I know where it came from and, more importantly, I know the people behind it.

That’s one of my favorite things about farmers markets. We aren’t just vendors standing under tents selling our own products. We shop from each other. We eat each other’s food. We recommend each other. We support each other.

And sometimes, after you’ve spent the day feeding everyone else, you come home and realize the market fed you too.
