Piri Piri opened its doors in 2020 as a Portuguese store with a small menu.
And then… you guys blew the doors off the place for Portuguese food. 😂
We switched gears quickly to accommodate you, and before we knew it, party platters and catering came along shortly after.
And we’ve been on one heck of a ride ever since.
There were certainly more ups than downs in our little takeout spot, nestled in the heart of Somerset. ❤️
You challenged me personally to always do my best. You surprised me so many times with requests for things I never expected to make in Somerset…like Cachupa. 🤷♀️😂
The words Bifana, Stuffies, Portuguese stuffing, Rice pudding and Kale Soup became part of our everyday language—and part of your weekly routine.
And I quickly learned that sauce addiction is REAL in this town, so we started selling our sauces by the pint, quart… and eventually the BUCKET. 😂
We are so incredibly grateful for every single one of you.
But our time in the end cap of the old Simon building has come to an end.
This weekend, we will be serving our LAST BIFANAS.
So please swing by Piri Piri Kitchen one last time. Grab some takeout, say goodbye, and let me give you a big squeeze. 😊❤️
We look forward to seeing you around town.
And I have one wish: please continue to support the amazing niche small businesses right here in our town. They are the heart of Somerset.
And for some of you… it’s time you bought ME lunch. 😂
So if you see me out and about, don’t be shy. I’ll be looking for my lunch. 😉
ONE LAST THING… ❤️
Now, a post like this typically opens the door for comments like:
“We’re going to miss you!”
“I never liked their food anyway!” 😂
“That used to be the old seafood place!” 😂
But I have a special request.
In lieu of comments and goodbyes, please tag your favorite local café or restaurant. ❤️
Maybe it’s your favorite breakfast spot, the little hidden gem you love, your go-to lunch place, or somewhere you think more people should know about.
Your tag might help someone discover a new favorite—and it will remind all of us just how important our small businesses are to the community.
I’ll go first: Cindy’s Breakfast, Pink Bean, County Fare Hotdog 🫶
Each one of these women owned businesses helped me along my journey. Thank you ladies!
Piri Piri ❤️’s Somerset!
Thank you!
With love and gratitude,
