After 11 incredible years of fueling our souls and filling our bellies, our beloved Chef TJ is hanging up the apron here to start a new adventure with his family.

We aren’t letting him go without one hell of a send-off! Join us this Saturday (5.16) @ 6pm as we serve up TJ’s greatest hits, favorite beer flight, and—because it wouldn’t be a TJ party without it—plenty of Jäger on the side.

Getting our hands dirty for a greener Iowa! 🌿⁠

This past week, our team joined forces with Trees Forever to plant a total of 57 trees across two major community events. We started in Northeast Des Moines to plant 27 Magnolia, Ginkgo, and Kentucky Coffee trees along Hull Avenue. From there, we headed to Wanatee Park in Marion, where our team rolled up their sleeves to add another 30 trees to the landscape.⁠

We’re proud to volunteer our time to help the Des Moines and Cedar Rapids areas thrive for generations to come. Huge thanks to everyone who has helped us grow over the years and make these tree plantings possible! 🌳✨

At Big Grove, every day is Earth Day! 🌍

The Big Grove Omaha team hit the streets on Sunday for the weekly Benson Neighborhood Cleanup, led by the "Green Team" at Benson First Friday (BFF). Together, we cleared 34 pounds of trash and collected several gallons of glass and recyclables!

We love this community and are proud to help keep Benson beautiful. Huge thanks to BFF for leading the charge! 🧹✨

🍻 Meet Greg Moomey, Brewer at our production site! 🍻

Greg has been part of the Big Grove crew for 2.5 years, working his way from the Gilbert St. taproom to brewing on our massive 60bbl system.

For Greg, brewing here is a full-circle moment! The beers coming out of our taprooms years ago are what originally inspired him to learn how to brew. Today, he’s creating his own R&D recipes and was even chosen to represent us at the 2025 hop selection in Yakima, WA to hand-pick the best hops for our brews! 🌱

When he’s not making the beer you love, this Muscatine native and long-time Iowa City local is usually out in his Jeep finding new hikes, hanging with his family, baking homemade bread and pizza, or playing the drums. 🥁🍕
