I want to thank each and every one of you for your support, votes, and encouragement through my Favorite Chef journey. I truly signed up for this not knowing what in the world it even was, and was absolutely shocked to find myself sitting at 1st Place as much as I did. Truly, this was such an uplifting experience to remind me of the incredible community of friends and supporters I have! Endless Thanks!

Thank you also on behalf of the James Beard Foundation. Each vote was a contribution to their fundraiser, not to mention how many of you paid for additional votes for me. I was not expecting anyone to do that and am wildly grateful! Wow!

Now that this sidequest has come to a close, please know that I will continue the work on my cookbook and be better at keeping my kitchen storytelling a priority. Although I will desperately miss the daily dopamine encouragement this contest gave me, I will do my best to continue to share stories, recipes, photos, & the progress I am making.

Thanks again for your support via Favorite Chef, but more importantly for your support & friendship we’ve shared all these years! Much love and happy summer! 💚💚💚

The two biggest passions of my life have been storytelling and good food. As I look over all my cook book notes as well as all my notes for a memoir, it's clear that they're really one book! A collection of my recipes and the stories that make those recipes special. Stories of my great grandmother making 100s of pies every week, or eating the best pasta in NYC, or grilling Alaskan salmon right out of the kenai river... 💚

Winning the Favorite Chef competition would allow me to fully prioritize the building of this cook book: testing the recipes, writing the stories, and creating the design.
