We were glad to see SeaD Consulting recently visit the Crystal Coast to test shrimp served at local restaurants. It was disappointing to learn that some places advertising their shrimp as local were actually serving imported shrimp.

As a restaurant that believes in being 100% transparent with our customers, we were also disappointed that El’s East wasn’t among those tested. We didn’t have the opportunity to have our shrimp verified and included on the list, and we know others serving wild-caught shrimp weren’t tested either.

We’re proud to tell our customers exactly where our shrimp comes from. We buy wild-caught shrimp from C F Gollott Seafood, a five-generation Mississippi shrimp supplier established in 1932. We hope El’s East and others that weren’t tested will have the opportunity to participate in the future.
