Guess what idea...what vision...what dream,
I have never let die out inside of me??
Guess what I am finally going to start building for my future & for the future of this entire community??
...You guessed it, despite the previous false advertisement on the old as% sign out front.....
EdMoe's on Main is finally coming soon!!!
Despite many uphill battles, long hours... and even longer weeks, months, and years in this 3+ year journey I've been on..I have never given up hope on the beautiful vision I've held for this community, for its children... for YOU ALL; in what I promise to offer you through my creation of EdMoe's on Main!
Unlike ANY establishment which may provide the same basic menu items at comparable & reasonable prices..... NONE can, nor will..ever come close to offering you the amazing memories you will assuredly create when you experience all the EdMoe's will offer you and your loved ones!
With almost 3/4 of an acre of beautiful & historic land surrounding the brand new & modern facilities..EdMoe's will gladly provide all the basics, such as a large, ADA compliant and always clean(*on-site!) family-restroom... as well as all the new-age "necessities", such as music, big screen TV's, cell phone charging stations, & free wi-fi,..all while providing safe & orderly (*and multiple!) seating options, standing areas, parking spaces and even play areas... to all of our customers & friends!! While those who choose to stay a while, may learn of the rich history of the 160 yr. old property...we all will play an intricate role in EdMoe's bright & optimistic future!!
After many, many efforts at drawing the initial plans.. and with the guidance, knowledge, and hard work put forth by my awesome architect, Brian Nickas... I believe the final layout of EdMoe's site will offer easy & efficient traffic flow; but more importantly..it will provide
SAFETY FOR OUR CHILDREN.
The well-lit parking lot on the North side of the main building, w/ its 1-way entrance off of 159 & exit (only) onto Julia street..will not only hold approx. 20 cars comfortably, but it will be complete w/ handicapped spaces, speed bumps, well-marked crosswalks, and plenty of concrete bollards to help prevent any unforeseen vehicle/pedestrian confrontations.
The separate drive-thru lane(s) will be located on the South side of the main building and not be connected to the North parking lot, with its own entrance off of Julia St. and exit (only) onto 159. With the initiation of safe & responsible no-parking zones along EdMoe's entire highway frontage, there will be no more doubt in feeling confident & safe when merging into the busy flow of highway traffic.
Again, and with the utmost sincerity..I, through my vision of EdMoe's, intend to willingly & responsibly provide you ALL with every safety precaution necessary, in this fast-paced, congested, and distracted-driving-world we all live in.
I vow to do my best to give us all back, something we seem to have lost in this community over the last several years... in a business with the capabilities AND willingness..to put FAMILIES & CHILDREN FIRST. While profit is often the only driving force behind many business models..I assure you all that your families safety & well-being,.your little ones innocence & happiness..and everyone's (seemingly) dying sense of community..were always driving forces in my pursuit of this ice cream dream of mine!
Where will EdMoe's keep all of these on-site customers you ask?...well, let me finally tell you!
In lieu of saving several (tens of) thousands of dollars in entrance, exit, and parking lot costs and in spite of my ability to build a "warehouse" to hold 100+ people, right up to my front property lines, or the ability to show zero responsibility for the liter, congestion, and overall chaos my patrons may create..I chose to keep the cleanliness & attractiveness, the order & safety, and the overall sense of well-being & peacefulness for this ENTIRE family-based community, at the fore front of my plight.
I chose to keep EdMoe's main building well off my front property line, allowing me to create a beautiful & spacious front seating area, complete with several custom built picnic tables, multiple trashcans, several aesthetically pleasing landscape & architectural features..all while protected from the hot sun and any reckless highway traffic, by two mature, strong & healthy Oak trees. It will be the perfect spot to people...AND traffic watch, while enjoying your treats from EdMoe's!!
From the landscaped area, you will enter EdMoe's amazing & huge covered patio space where you will order, pick-up...AND be able to take a seat and stay a while! This 1000sqft. (+/-) space will provide the room to move around like humans..not cattle.. and with plenty of bar-top & bench seating, you can, again... sit and stay while! Perhaps catching a few innings of a Cardinal's game or checking your email.. or maybe just simply enjoying being outside w/ your family & neighbors on a steaming-hot or rainy day,, yet feeling protected & relaxed by the the cool breeze of our outdoor ceiling fans.
With future intentions to add retractable, all-glass garage doors around the covered patio's perimeter, EdMoe's will be the only place in this town..or any other neighboring community.. who will gladly provide you ice cream year round! My simple, yet modern & efficient design of EdMoe's main building & historic, spacious property..will make us unlike any establishment you have ever visited.
I promise that you and your children, will love it for decades to come!!
Around the back of the main building, you will find the large ADA compliant, family-restroom. Not only will it offer a clean place to wash up those tiny,,sticky,,hands & faces.. but no more will you have to tell your disappointed kids that they have leave to use the potty!!
Beyond the clean & compliant restroom, you will find yet another massive seating area. This open-air concrete patio with comfortably seat upwards of 25-30 (more) guests.. with plenty of "mingle-room" left over!! Again, and as you'll see throughout EdMoe's site.. several trashcans will be strategically placed to deter any more disgusting littering, such as that which goes on all around EdMoe's and the other historic properties near-by.
Its time we have some respect for ourselves and our community, and do our best by teaching our children about keeping their world, especially the property of others & their entire community as a whole...as clean & liter-free as possible. Its become sad for me to walk my daughter around,, even on the few streets surrounding our little place in this big world.. and spend time (consistently) filling bags with trash and litter... most of which comes from irresponsible & disrespectful adults! Its become sad that my 5 year old is more responsible, and doing more than most adults she knows, to help keep her community.. her world.. clean.
Together with your support & forward-thinking ideas and actions.. EdMoe's will strive to always promote the cleanliness & beauty of our streets.
Beyond the large open-air patio in EdMoe's rear, you will find an enormous green space which is shaded by several old-growth trees already rooted on the property.. and will allow for a future playground for our little ones, which will be safe & secure from any vehicular paths or congested parking! The ability to eat an ice cream cone with your kid, then push him or her on a swing for a few minutes, relishing in the joy & pure happiness of their smile.. knowing.. that in that exact moment in time, your baby would rather be no where else in this big ole' scary world, then right there at EdMoe's with their mommy or daddy..Gradma or Grandpa..laughing & smiling, and being totally in the moment!! So many memories to be made..so little time; let's get on with it already, eh!?!
Because my animals have always been very near & dear to my heart, EdMoe's already understands the undying love you probably have for yours! With a menu section dedicated to them, as well as plenty of fresh-watering holes, on-site waste disposal bags, a never ending supply of glorious ground-ice cream... and possibly some new butts to sniff on dogs from accross town.. EdMoe's can't wait to offer your friendly, furry-family members a place to hang out for a while, too!!
Although my original intentions for EdMoe's was to provide ice cream & other frozen treats, while slowly progressing to more and more hot & specialty food items.. its unprecedented potential to provide so much more than products that, in all honesty, will sell themselves...
became more & more evident to me as I put these ideas down on paper while writing my 40 page business plan...
OVER 3 YEARS AGO, mind you! I realized this town, this community,,,you all.. deserved something greater for your lives & the lives of your families. I realized....
YOU DESERVE DRIVE-THRU COFFEE!!!!
I can't wait to serve my first 5a.m.customer on the way to work, his hot cup & donut. I can't wait to provide our local & out of town teachers with their first of several..
pick-me-up cups of EdMoe's featured "Teacher's Blend", as they head to work to love, care for, & teach our precious children!!
With an initial menu offering the "basics"...I am excited to learn about the industry and begin to properly offer more lavish & exotic coffee blends, espressos, and several "coffee" options like you can find at any of the over-priced, cliche coffee establishments we all know of. With future intentions to provide my customers with various teas & other healthier drink options, EdMoe's will again, become the benchmark for any similar establishments.
The thing is folks..I will simply have the space inside my brand-new building, as well as on my beautiful & historic property... to offer you so, so many different & unique food items.. in addition to an on-site experience with your family, friends, and neighbors..that will be absolutely unique... and absolutely perfect!! With plenty of drive & desire to expand EdMoe's into a place we can all be proud of for our community... not to mention plenty of space to do so.. I promise something great for all of our live..for decades to come!!
With plans to do so much more than peddle recession-proof products..I am really excited for EdMoe's to become an intricate part in the lives of people of all ages...be it outdoor movie nights & several other special events for our kids, acoustic music or family-friendly open-mic comedy nights, on-site pumpkin patches & fall festivals or old-time X-mas tree lots...complete with bonfires & free hot chocolate... or of course the free wi-fi & music, finally giving our teen-agers & young adults a safe & wholesome spot to hang-out and talk....I mean text, tweet, & post, with their friends!!
I can't wait to begin to implement all the rewards programs, fundraising functions, and any of the several other special events I have come up with...on my own.. more than 3 years ago... involving our schools, our churches, our first responders, our teams, clubs, and various other local organizations who believe in protecting & improving our community, for ALL OF US...

As this has been a crazy, 3 year ride in finally getting to this point in my life... I could write for days & days about all that I envision EdMoe's on Main becoming for ALL of us...but I have finally realized I don't need to do that anymore...
It will soon be very clear & apparent to all who pass in front of EdMoe's future home on our Main Street..that my wonderful intentions for this community have always been whole-hearted & genuine... coupled together with my passion, my relentless work-ethic, and the overwhelming desire to better my life & the lives of my loved ones.. I just want you to get as excited as I am, about all that EdMoe's will most assuredly become!
Just a few more things.. then I'm finally gonna drop the mic and move forward with my life...
1.I have not, nor will I ever.. give up on this vision of what EdMoe's will come to mean for my life, and the lives of those I love. I am not going anywhere; quite the opposite in fact.. as I hope to break ground next week and finally start to run with this dream.. not stopping until I see it through to fruition.. and always continue to dream big because hope is free!!
2.No business, no bank, no friend or foe... will ever again create doubt or fear in my heart, nor will I let ANYONE... dictate what I know I am capable of creating for my life, and for this entire community.
3. Since this is pretty much, my first Facebook post,,well.....EVER!!...it is safe for you all to assume that I
"ain't real good with these computer boxes or this inter-web thing".. but rest assured, the search for a social media guru (a.k.a. a college student) has already began! With the help & loving support of a very esteemed & business-savvy cousin of mine...who also happens to be a well-respected professor at a large university.. we should have no trouble finding one of these internet wizards, to help to make EdMoe's on-line presence a force to be reckoned with!
4.I will not get caught up in silly, small-town gossip...be it on-line or otherwise. I flat out don't have time for it in my life. So please know that ANY negative, rude, or ridiculous comments about what I am trying to build for this community,.. for YOU ALL; or how I am an as***le because I embracing all that capitalism & free-will afford us as Americans.... please know they will get you no where.. accept maybe on a list of people who will not be allowed to partake in all that EdMoe's will offer to them or their children!! Seriously, though I really don't care what any nay-sayers have to spew. You can't hurt my feelings any more or worse... than any of those who have already made me to feel unworthy or un-capable of bettering my life. Please... Keep it to yourself... I promise it is in your best interest, to avoid having to explain to your little ones that mommy or daddy's big mouth... is the reason they are not allowed to get ice cream at EdMoe's!!
