💚🦉 THANK YOU, SLINGER! 🦉💚

What an incredible day! Thank you to EVERYONE who came out to support Coach Jacklin today. The love, generosity, teamwork, and community spirit were absolutely amazing to see.

To every volunteer, sponsor, business, donor, family, friend, student, coach, and community member who helped make today possible — THANK YOU! We truly could not have done this without everyone coming together and supporting one another.

Today was about so much more than an event. It was about showing Coach Jacklin just how many people are standing behind him. 💚

This is what Slinger does. We show up. We support each other. We come together as ONE.

Way to go, Slinger! 🦉💚

When we started the Goeman’s Rapid Mart Spirit Pump, this is exactly what we hoped it could become — a way for our community to come together and help people who have spent their lives making our communities better.

Last month, we chose someone very special to receive the proceeds from our Spirit Pump:

Bill Jacklin.

If you’re from Slinger, Bill probably doesn’t need much of an introduction.

Bill is entering his 30th year as a teacher in the Slinger School District and his 16th season as head football coach at Slinger High School. He has spent more than three decades coaching Slinger football at every level and led the Owls to the 2024 WIAA Division 2 State Championship.

But what Bill has given to Slinger goes far beyond wins, championships and football.

He has dedicated his life to his students, athletes, youth sports and the entire Slinger community. He has been there for countless families and kids over the years, teaching them about hard work, leadership, perseverance and what it means to be part of something bigger than yourself.

This year, Bill has been facing one of the biggest challenges of his own life. Complications from peripheral artery disease resulted in a below-the-knee amputation.

And if you know Bill, you know exactly how he is attacking this challenge — with determination, strength and the goal of getting back to the classroom and back on the football field.

For decades, Coach Jacklin has been there for Slinger. Now it’s our turn to be there for him.

❤️ Goeman’s Rapid Mart will be donating last month’s Spirit Pump proceeds to Bill and his family.

There will also be a fundraiser for Bill on September 13th, and we encourage everyone who can to come out and support a man who has given so much of himself to this community.

Bill, thank you for everything you have done for our kids, our schools and our community.

This one’s for you, Coach. 🏈💙

Please SHARE this post and help us rally around one of Slinger’s own.
