A little something sweet for a woman who made the world a whole lot brighter. 💕✨

Like so many of you, we were saddened to hear of the passing of the one and only Dolly Parton this week. Her music, humor, kindness, generosity, and unmistakable sparkle touched generations of people - and we couldn't let the weekend pass without celebrating her in the way we know best.

So this weekend, you'll find a few Dolly-inspired treats in our bakery case, made with lots of love (and maybe a little extra sugar and sparkle) in honor of a true country legend.

We’re looking for a friendly, dependable, people-person to join us at the bakery! If you love working with customers, staying busy, and being part of a small-town business with more than 100 years of history, we’d love to meet you.

This position will primarily be part of our front-of-house sales & customer service team, with potential opportunities to help represent Slaton Bakery at special events, markets, and in-store promotions, too!

Every year at the Texas Banana Pudding Festival, we include one special non-banana dessert in our Puddin’ Pass lineup - and this year, we’re taking you to the Black Forest!

Introducing our Black Forest Cake: three layers of our famous chocolate cake, two layers of whipped cream, and one scrumptious layer of cherry pie filling.

And because this German-inspired treat deserves the proper atmosphere, you’ll find this tasting station near our very own “Beer Garden”, where you can enjoy live German polka music along with beer from Two Docs and wine from McPherson Cellars!

We know it doesn’t FEEL like fall yet… but it can taste like it. 😉

Meet our NEW Gingerbread Whoopie Pies! Two soft, cake-like gingerbread cookies with just the right amount of warm spice, sandwiched around a thick layer of cream cheese frosting. YUM!

Consider it our way of bringing a little fall to West Texas… even if the thermometer hasn’t gotten the memo yet. 😂
