🌽🥂CORNFIELDS & COCKTAILS Trolley Hop is officially in the books! 🙌🏼🎉

Our FOURTH ride of its kind. So much interest in this event. The word is officially out and we already have a list of interested riders for our FIFTH ride this fall. Do we know when the next ride will be yet? NO. BUT Mollie, Cyndi, and I will be meeting up for our usual post ride pow-wow in the coming weeks to plot & plan. We’ll let you know when we get there. Who knows, maybe we will just have to take 2 trolleys next time.

Thank you so much to every single one of our riders for rolling with us yesterday. We had a couple of unexpected changes along the way and we really appreciate the grace & support you showed us. Next Sunday Public House 421 is low-key TURNING THREE!!! 😎✌🏼+☝🏼🥳🙌🏼✨

Even though we’re not throwing a big House party or a Pub Night this year, we’re still quietly celebrating our 3rd anniversary of existence. It’s been quite an amazing journey with you, our dear friends and community of coffee & cocktail lovers. We had no idea if anyone would even come for coffee before we opened our doors this time, 3 years ago. Boy-oh-boy did you guys ever show up! We’re eternally grateful. We love seeing each and every one of you walk through our doors each morning to share in our experience of being a new local hot spot. We quickly learned that coffee is the excuse and connection is the reason. Three years later we can clearly recognize that this connection is exactly what we’re were hoping for and dreaming of. 💯✨

Today is Day 1 of the 2026 Ragbrai ride so to commemorate our (sweaty, hot, exhausted) Ragbrai memories of our “soft opening” we’re going to call this week “Birthday Week” (probably next week too because we’re all about dragging birthdays out!). We love celebrating life and you guys are truly the life of the House.

If you’re on 2 wheels this week, catch us this Weds. morning 8am-1pm serving up gallons upon gallons of cold brew at The Milford Schoolhouse to the Ragbrai riders! BIG stuff happening out there that morning. It will be a proper, full circle celebration. 🚴🏻🚴‍♀️🚴🏻🎉

We might even hear about this little Public House 421 award across the radio waves someday. Getting the word out about our little shop, in our little town, around the capital city of Des Moines is a true honor. 🙏🏼
