Love our community partners teaching outdoor skills and sharing their love for Maine! Skowhegan Outdoors ROCKS!!!

Rapids run, friends made — a great week with our Intro to Whitewater Kayaking crew! Adventurous youth and adults hit the water this week, picked up the basics of reading rapids and paddling with confidence, and had a blast doing it alongside our Skowhegan Outdoors AmeriCorps members.

Thank you to The Maine Meal for delicious meals and to the Maine Timberlands Charitable Trust for the support of this program, provided at no cost to participants!

Next up: we’re trading paddles for pedals with Learn to MTB! See you out there

What pairs better with a full day of lumberjack competition, river fun, and Log Days festivities than great food?

This Saturday, Skowhegan Log Days will feature a lineup of local food vendors serving up something for every craving, including BBQ from Pork’s BBQ Pit LLC, wraps from Geez Louise That's A Wrap, Thai and asian street food from The Rice Box Food Truck, fries from Stan’s French Fries, and kettle corn and dirty sodas from MoBa & Co. And don't forget to stop by the new popsicle window at The Maine Meal.

Come hungry, stay for the action, and make a day of it on the riverfront.
